I will forever hate that sound.
In Ramadi before The Surge, any time we heard that sound, we knew the rocket/mortar attacks were about to start. They’d come out of the mosques all fired up for jihad.

Reminds me of the siren from “The Time Machine” when the Christians, I mean above grounders, mindlessly congregate to be killed and eaten by the Muslims, I mean the below grounders.

Good for them they are not trying to be my neighbor.

Obviously, some people choose to “integrate” and be part of the “melting pot” called America in their own way.
I wonder what Barack Hussein Obama thinks about this?

I think these mosques, prayer towers, halal stores, foot bathes are a good thing.
Makes target acquisition much easier.

Good thing they're not in my area. Everytime their loudspeaker clicked on, I'd likely crank up "Rock the Casbah" by the Clash.
Either that, or "King Kill 33°" by Marilyn Manson...

They will start with this initially...
Soon the actual neighborhood surrounding that minaret will be a no-go zone for non-muzzies. Muslims live and congregate around their place of worship (that's a fact).
Can somebody shoot that freakin' thing? It will be a sniper's nest someday.

Oh we have one of those right off the highway west of St Louis too, but they don’t do the “call to prayer” thing 5 times a day. If this one down in Bevo Mill does that, it’ll be a s#*t storm around here. It should be anyway but this city is not run by people that give a dang anymore.

It’s already an uncomfortable area to go to unless you’re wearing plenty of gold chains and a track suit. Most of the businesses around there have the “Bosnian spoken here” signs up(in whatever Cyrillic language they use so I can’t vouch for my “translation”).

We have an urban warfare training center on our post, about half a mile down from our Education Center. I arrived at work early one summer morning to the sound of a bloodcurdling warble filling the air, instantly turning the blood in my veins to ice. I thought we’d either been invaded or I had been transported half way around the world. It was the Center testing its sound systems.

Just kidding. You have my sympathies. We have one of the abominations just north of Georgia Tech. It has 4 of the missile looking things surrounding it.
I know these things predate missiles, but isn't it appropriate or even a premonition about how violent this death cult is that they seem to worship missiles? Religion of peace, hah, I ain't buying it.

There’s a mosque about 10 minutes away from my home....no minaret though, so at least we don’t have to put up with hearing muezzin’s calls 5 times a day. But I’d prefer there not to be a mosque at all....
Y’know, one of their prayer times is early in the morning, like 6 am or something...imagine lying there asleep and then all of a sudden you hear “Alllllaaaahhhhuuuuu akbaaaaar” four times followed by some other chant in Arabic. Geez. And I thought my CURRENT alarm clock was annoying.
To: ArmyTeach
The very first night I hit the ground in Ramadi, I heard the late-night yodel.
A few date palm trees were backlit against the city lights. The writer in me thought of the stories of the explorer/adventurers, a la Indiana Jones and the Mummy. How naive I was.
That’s not a call to prayer.
It’s a call to arms.

Another thought. How about reinstating church bells. Protestants fervently and frequently on Sunday, and - well - don't Catholics have specific calls to prayer during the day? RING THEM BELLS! Joyfully.

Catholics say the Angelus three times a day (6, 12, and 6). It’s basically three Hail Marys interspersed with shorter prayers, and only lasts a couple of minutes, during which the bells are rung. We actually still do this where I live, in St. Augustine, FL. Of course, we get away with it for historical reasons, since one of our bells dates back to 1671 and people have been praying the Angelus here since 1565.
Unfortunately, most Catholic churches don’t do it any more. But it sounds a whole lot nicer than Islamic howling, believe me! And you don’t have to brace yourself for explosions afterwards.

No, Catholics do not have any specific calls to prayer during the day, or any other time. I’ve never heard of such a thing.
We’re not Muslims.
