Record cold kills cattle and rice in Vietnam ( global warming )
The Earth Times ^

Record-setting cold weather has killed more than 8,000 cattle and 100,000 hectares of paddy rice in northern Vietnam since mid-January, officials said Tuesday. Most of the cattle have died in northern mountainous provinces, where temperatures during the month-long cold spell have sometimes dropped to below zero Celsius, a rarity in Vietnam.
"We fear that the number of cattle killed by coldness and shortage of food in northern provinces will keep rising in the coming days," ...
The cold spell, which the National Hydrometeorology Forecast Center says is the longest ever in Vietnam, has also killed up to 100,000 hectares of the winter-spring crop of paddy rice throughout the northern provinces.

Why do they never ask for comments from the Climate Nazis on stories like this? Some warm weather record happens and they are knocking each other over to get a quote in the story.

It should be abundantly clear this winter that global cooling is a greater threat to humanity than global warming. Seeds do not sprout and crops do not grow in cooler than normal temperatures. These freezing temperatures could very well lead to severe famines in Viet Nam and China this year. I haven’t heard a peep out of Fat Algore this winter. He must be hibernating until the Dem convention.

0 C isn’t cold enough to harm cattle. Crop failure can result from prolonged cold, and cause starvation, but the cattle would most likely have become burgers and steaks long before that.

I was in Da Nang on a coastal plain.. Just north was the DMZ across highlands that naturally separated tne north from the south. During the winter months it got pretty chilly, especially since we didn’t have blankets and our poncho liners always seemed to ‘disappear’. On cold nights when not on a flight, we’d sleep in utilities, covered by Nomex and a mosquito net. Never saw snow, no skim ice either. Requisitioned blankets but never got one in two years.
The area in the article is farther west and north, Tai and Meo and Man country; the Montagnards. The region is wilderness.

Famine would be just peachy to he likes of Algore- reduces human population, don’cha know... and it would be blamed on GW all the same. Bit by bit, though, Global Warming is morphing into Climate Change and human activity is blamed for all weather and climate. And good weather is more ominous than hurricanes. There is no joy in Liberalland. Ever. There is always a Disaster around the corner and it is always due to Sin, though they don’t call it “sin.” There is no transcendent God thus We are God and Liberals(the left generally) are God’s Mind.

We'll never know. Perhaps some tree ring evidence might shed some light but even that is unlikely since most of the flora in SE Asia wouldn't survive the three hundred year time span. Nor does any record exist of the prevailing wind patterns exist. It's effects were believed global and noted as 'The Year without Summer' but did that also include the Southern Hemisphere? The April 1815 eruption would have occurred during the Southern Hemisphere's autumnal season.
There are no records of tax increases in the American colonies to allay or offset the effects of the global climate change either.

The more liberals who are impacted and who have personal experiences that do not support AGW, the better. Narcissists always put more stock in whatever they personally experience.

I don’t know about some liberals. Monday I had my quarterly tooth cleaning and told the Dental Hygeniest about how cold it was in Mexico.
She had me tell the office liberal about the record cold temps in Mexico. The office liberal tried to blame it on global warming and try to end the conversation. Her peers just laughed at her, and she wasn’t laughing nor changed from her Green Nazism.

Roger That! In the central highlands we thought of “cold” as temperatures in the low 70’s F.
The area of freezing weather is farther north, but still the whole idea of any part of Vietnam having freezing weather sounds unbelievable.

Perhaps not just yet.
From my time on the left, I can tell you that nothing will silence a Progressive like ridicule and embarrasment, especially from their cohorts.
Give it time. A couple of years ago, I had an old friend who now believes wholly in AGW tell me how he was planting live oaks and various nut trees (in Western Wisconsin, where, besides the temperatures and some virulent nut tree diseases, we get pretty constant drying winds from the Plains) because of Climate Change. I just listened and even asked him for recommendations on what to plant. All of this was in front of several other people, some of them quietly skeptical. Recently, I asked someone about Roger’s trees. They just laughed and said he had lost a bunch last winter. He’ll have lost more this year. I will bet that by next Spring, if 2008-09 is cold, he will be back to oak and spruce. Same guy was predicting the end of maple syrup, but it looks like this is going to be a banner year for that.
Sure, some Greenies will continue to parrot the party line, but eventually, they will change the subject and AGW will fall down the memory hole. Even now, whenever I have asked over this winter where my global warming went, I have received glares and silence from the devotees. It is fun and laughing keeps me warm. ;) It is only going to get more difficult for them to keep on with the big scares. A lot hinges on this summer. If it is freaking hot, which I doubt (we didn’t even put in our bedroom a/c last summer and I had to heat the pool almost all the way through July and August), they will be vindicated in their own minds. If it is mild, they will become even quieter.
