-PRESS RELEASE-
Armed Forces Foundation Unveils Commemorative Military Bass Boat
Boat To Be Auctioned Off At Armed Forces Foundations Congressional Gala In March
Washington, DC (February 11, 2008) The Armed Forces Foundation (AFF), a national nonprofit benevolent foundation under the Department of Defenses America Supports You program, is proud to unveil its Ranger 188VX tournament-ready bass boat at ESPNs 2008 Bassmaster Classic.
The tournament will be held from February 22nd-24th on Lake Hartwell in Greenville, S.C. The boat will be auctioned March 5th, at the 4th Annual Armed Forces Foundations Congressional Gala in Washington, D.C. with all proceeds to benefit families of the Armed Forces.
We are thrilled to have the support of charitable corporations that care deeply for America's service members and their families, said Armed Forces Foundation President, Patricia Driscoll. We are proud to unveil this boat at the 2008 Bassmaster Classic and are grateful for the contributions Janet Parker has made in supporting our foundations mission."
A number of corporate donors collaborated with the AFF to help outfit the boat. Aaron Rents, Inc. purchased the boat, which was supplied by Ranger Boats at a discounted rate. Yamaha Motors donated a 150-horsepower outboard motor, and Minn Kota donated a 101lb. max pro trolling motor. Humminbird also contributed to this charitable cause by donating a 997 Side Imaging System for the console, a 797 Depth Finder and Fish Locator with GPS on the bow, and an Inter-Link System linking the two. Overall, the boats estimated value is $40,000 and the boat will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
"Yamaha is very pleased to be associated with the Armed Forces Foundation through pro angler Janet Parker. She has made charitable work an important part of her career and we applaud her passion," said Martin Peters, Communications and Dealer Education Manager, Yamaha Marine Group. "We're happy to be able to donate the outboard for the Armed Forces Foundation boat and we know that the proceeds from the auction have a meaningful impact."

Could you all ping your fishing freeper friends? Just want to get the info out to as many as possible.
Also want to recognize Ranger Boats, Hummingbird, Yamaha, and thank them for their contributions to our troops.
Ping
No pics?
So is this an Aegis Bass Boat or just a regular one?
Ping.
Sorry, I don’t know how to pull the pics off the AFF website and put them on here. They do have pics on there.
Tournament Bass boats are decked out with cool graphics and stuff. The photos are of a stock Ranger boat (still nice though).
I wonder if the one they auction will be stock or fancied up with some Cool military decals.
Thanks for the ping
I suspect JaxWraps will deck it out with military graphics. Janet Parker (a good friend of mine) put together this deal, and one of her sponsors is JaxWraps.
You can view Janet’s page at www.janetparkerfishing. She does a lot of promotional events for the military. She’s also a wonderful person and a good angler.
A very nice gesture on their part!
Fishing tournaments are the only other “sport” I’ll watch on TV besides football.
We’ve had some really ugly, yet functional boats over the years. Right now we share one with my husband’s brother. It’s parked at his house for the winter, but will be back out here for fishin’ fun come Spring! :)
Is the .50 Cal mounted on the front or rear?
LOL. I wish, talk about filling a creel limit!!!
LOL. All of my boats have been old and ugly, till this week. I just bought a nice (2000 model) Monark pontoon boat.
Going to rig it up with downriggers and rod holders, for trolling for stripers and walleye. Then, I’m getting a foot controlled trolling motor on front for easing around the bank in search of crappie, bass.
This way my potential fishing partners can’t complain that my boat is too unstable/uncomfortable. No excuses!!!
I’ll even supply the beer and bait. Come on down to Tennessee and we’ll fish in style!!!
I’m selling the little fishing boat, but I still have the 17 foot canoe for tight spaces.
Like you, I’ll watch fishing on TV, when it’s too cold to get out and do it.
Its just a boat:
What.....just a boat?
If I ever date another man, I will want a picture of his boat first!
without any pixs of the boat!
Lucky you! I’d love a pontoon boat. That’s on the list for “some day.” ;)
A big hoorah for all those participating companies in support of our troops. Shame more companies do not make provision to offer similar support.
