The actions of some people clearly affect nature negatively in many ways.
But the manner that some nature-monitoring takes is insane; for example it’s not very realistic to believe that just because you don’t see certain plants and animals that means they don’t exist anywhere or are in danger.
The observer effect has been long-known in physics - it should be something more people in the biology area pay some attention to. You can’t monitor something without affecting what you are focusing on.
Clearly, the easiest and best way to ensure nature is safe is to - leave it in peace. It’s done just fine for millions of years before people got here. Sure - bind a breaking bough, or have a vet take a look at a sick animal if you find one; in general though nature doesn’t need people.
