A newborn delivered by his mother in a Houston emergency room bathroom and placed in a hospital trash can has died after being removed from a respirator at Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital.
The baby boy, born Feb. 9 in a Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital bathroom, was not breathing when he was found minutes after his birth by hospital workers.
He was revived, transferred to Children's and placed on a respirator where he remained until doctors shut off his life support late Wednesday. Baby Granados, or "David" as he was known by hospital staff, had been brain-dead for more than a week.
The child's 29-year-old mother, Genny Granados, remains jailed on one count of injury to a child and could face life in prison if convicted. Her bail is $50,000.
Lyn McClellan, chief of the trial division at the Harris County District Attorney's Office, said a capital murder charge probably won't be pursued.

What’s the bugaboo? If they had jammed scissors in its head and vacuumed out its brain just a day earlier, it would be fine, according to our good friends the Dems. Why draw the line there? Hell, we could lower healthcare costs by a fortune - instead of building abortion clinics, just make sure there’s a good cliff nearby. You can even yell “This is Sparta!” as you chuck them over.
This culture where we legitimize brutality to our children has got to end. Of all the problems attributable to political parties, this particular one is coming very clearly from one direction, and it starts with ‘D’ and it ends with ‘T’ and that spells “a bunch of liberal jackballs.” This is the end result of their “pro-choice” principals.

No wait, don’t tell me!!! She was in the hospital and could not get medical attention!?!?!?!? No one would take her to the delivery room? No one would even check on her? Just like what happened to radio talk show host Glenn Beck???

I wonder if it occurred to her to remove the after birth from the baby’s lungs so it could breath? I mean, I know this woman is not a doctor, and she is a product of the modern education system, but that would explain why the baby was not breathing.

Dear God in heaven."Exposing"(i.e. abandoning/killing children you can't take care of) is/was extremely common. In Japan you used to be able to(the 1970s, doubt you can do it now) abort a child *after it was born*. Just take it to the neighborhood abortionist and bye bye baby.

The woman should simply have said she had given herself an abortion and then asked Obama to reiterate his support for her right to murder her born alive aborted infant.
She had been in the E-room. If it’s like any of my experiences, she may have been cooling her heels there for 6 hours, and would not have been in an exactly entirely rational towards the end of that ordeal.
Amen. Everything begins at home with God and family at the core of it all.

I really don’t get it. She was in the hospital emergency room- it would have been so easy for her to get help for the child and then give him up for adoption if that is what she wanted to do. So why dump him in the trash to die? Sick, sick person- I hope they throw the book at her and she has many years behind bars to reflect on what she did to her son.
If that was true, she still would have received help at the moment of delivery had she screamed or done something else to get attention to what was happening. At that point it really was an emergency and they would have had to treat her regardless of insurance or other reasons.
My daughter was in a hospital elevator last week when a pregnant lady's water broke and baby started coming- when the doors opened on the next floor my daughter yelled at two nurses in the hall that the lady was having her baby in the elevator and they came running. You can get help in a hospital if you are having a true emergency. It doesn't sound to me like this lady really wanted help- she just wanted rid of the baby.
