Motorcycle officer hurt in Clinton Motorcade

DALLAS — A Dallas police officer escorting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's entourage to a rally in Oak Cliff Friday morning lost control of his motorcycle and was seriously hurt.

The accident happened on the Houston Street viaduct around 9:20 a.m. The motorcycle apparently hit a concrete embankment.

HD Chopper 8 pilot Troy Bush, who was flying over the motorcade, said he witnessed the officer being thrown an estimated 20 yards by the impact.

The victim, whose name was not available, was rushed to nearby Methodist Medical Center for treatment.

Prayers for his family. It is terrible. No word yet on what caused the accident, but the officer was thrown 30 feet and has just died at Methodist Hospital.

How fast could the motorcade have been traveling? For the life of me, I can’t imagine they would be going so fast for the officer to have lost control, swerving into an enbankment. How utterly tragic!
