Its like that in many places here in Cali too.Yet it seems that nearly all the time that the victims of these crimes are also Hispanic.I remember listening to kids at one of our local high schools bragging about their”sets”and how they “took out fools”that disrespected them.I played devil’s advocate and asked,”Hey,you are all”La Raza”.Why are you killing your brown brothers?”

Amen to that...when does the civil war start? Tired of this crap....they know who they are but won’t even arrest them. Time to take them out ourselves....

The civil war has already begun. The illegals and the US government( if you can call it that) are winning. They are on the same side. We will have to fight both to win this one.
How about ads hitting the gangs where they are most vunerable: their need for “respect.” They so pride themselves on their precious image of being “tough” and “macho”, and all too often police opposition just re-enforces that image.
On the other hand, images of a bloody baby blanket or child’s back-pack left behind by innocent victims of some “rumble” or drive-by shooting might just remind people of what cold cowards most gang-bangers are—once you take away their “heat.” Image is their Achille’s heel—and the best point of attck!

I live in Grants Pass and I haven’t really heard of any gang problems here. Motorcycle gangs, though...we got tons of them!
Now Medford is another story, lots and lots of Hispanic gangs there...

Note that Oregon IS a “shall issue” state. Unfortunately, this is a problem that is moving into there from here in CA. Norteno and sureno refers to Northern and Southern CA, typically the Mexican Mafia and Nuestra Familia(MM is Sureno, NF is Norteno) gangs. Somewhat of a simplification, but that is the gist of it.
Maybe you would have done better with the Zoning Board. You know they'd give you a hard time if you put up an unauthorized tool shed.
As an amateur student of history it's interesting (and sad) to see up close and personal how a civilization falls.
