"I guess you were looking for flash and dash instead of substance. Fred was the ONLY one of the candidates, Republican or Democrat who was talking about the way to solve the problems we have this country’s governance.

As a Veep, he wouldn’t have to LEAD anyone, but he could bring some good ideas to the ticket.

" That why we keep losing, we need someone than help get nominee elected and can campaign, something Fred proved he can' t do.

Yes...it was an excellent synopsis.

I tried looking up Cliff Finch, and didn’t find much.
I don’t remember much about him, though I do remember him.

Found a lot on Gil Carmichael, though. ;o)

I went back through factmart’s posts, focusing on the time that Fred was in the race.

It’s interesting that he/she didn’t particularly support Fred.
It’s also interesting that for factmart to have been here as long as he/she has...not many posts until recently.

Do you work for someone?
Are you someone who was here before, and set up another account in case you were banned?
Strange posting history, for sure.

I’ve known some who are members here, and have multiple accounts.
Maybe you are one of those.

America: A Tribute to Heroes | September 21, 2001 | Ronald C Dahlberg
AMERICA: A Tribute to Heroes ... Big Disappointment My wife and I along with my Mother sat down this evening to watch Hollywood’s America: A Tribute to Heroes and our hearts were broken, disappointed and dismayed. What an embarrassment to us as Americans. The Tributes were wonderful and heartfelt but the music was lacking (sic). It’s a shame that all the stations put this on TV tonight because we will probably never get a chance to get some really good music again ... not after this!!! It’s sad to think that this is how the world will judge America by ...

I would like to see Fred Win but I heard that if he pulls out he would support mccain, If he did that he’s no conservative either.

Well, you got your 'fact' wrong that time. Fred pulled out, and didn't endorse anyone. After it became clear that McCain would be the nominee, and Romney had already dropped out and pleaded for Republican unity, Fred did the same. He never 'endorsed' McCain, the candidate, but acknowledged him as a friend. Instead, as Romney did, Fred asked for Republicans to get behind the nominee so that the Democrats could be beaten in 2008.

What fact> That’s what the media was reporting, even Rush reported it.

If Fred had wanted to endorse McCain over all the other Republican candidates, he’d have done so when he withdrew from the race. Did you read Fred’s statement? He was ‘endorsing’ the Republican nominee, who just happened to be McCain. I daresay, if it had been Mitt, or even Huckabee, he’d have done the same thing. He wants to defeat the Democrats in November, and he knows that a fractured Republican party can’t do that.

I know how long ago that you signed up.

There are people...political operatives...who sign up here to help sway sentiment towards their guy.
There are those with multiple nics who are sleepers, too.

I went back through your posts and, even though you say you supported Fred, you weren’t particularly adamant about it.

If I’ve misjudged you, then I publicly apologize.

However, you have some of the characteristics in your postings that operatives have.

Suzi, you are absolutely right about that.

Too, it’s not like he held a televised announcement.
He simply issued a statement after it became apparent that McCain was going to be the nominee.
He wants a united party going into the most important election in my lifetime.

It was said that day after he dropped out Fred was going to endorse McCain. We still had a chance a that time to have anybody but, McCain.

Fred did they right thing by waiting until Mitt dropped out of race

I was for Fred 100% when he first got in, but he was a big disappointment to to a lot of people. He was big in the polls until he got in. Fred was my man too, but I was wrong. He was boring and I never consider voting for him again for President. For a actor, he did not play the roll, and getting on the bad side of Christians did not help. I repeat If Reagan would have done as bad a Fred and some other when he ran in 1976, he would not have ran again. If you can not run a campaign how can you expect to run a country. I like Fred, but you need to pick the strongest, like Reagan did in the first Bush, Bush was second in voting and ran second in primaries.

Actually, what we need is a true conservative who is competent to do the job well. I’d be perfectly happy if that person came from Ohio, or Virginia, or Missouri....but you have to have an ACTUAL person...not just a theoretical ideal.

outsiders will eschew him for making a living lobbying once.

I've yet to have anyone provide any supporting evidence for that widely propagated claim.

I've never seen any proof that Joe Sixpack was remotely as concerned about the dreaded "former lobbiest" tag as the media and certain politicians would have you believe.

I DO think it would tarnish him in McCain's eyes...but I don't think the average voter gives a rip so long as you agree with them on their issues.

In that case, if we do not consider geographics in the VEEP selection process, I’d opt for Duncan Hunter (CA).

Now, it would be nice if there is a very sharp, CONSERVATIVE woman with a Hispanic surname to put on the ticket. How ‘bout former Labor Secretary, Linda Chavez?
