Rezko sought post for Obama's home-seller
Indicted fundraiser Tony Rezko once sought a state post for the agent who sold a home to presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., court records showed.
Court papers filed in Rezko's corruption case indicated he asked Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's administration to appoint Donna Schwan Jackson, a real estate agent, to the Illinois Council on Developmental Disabilities, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.
Jackson is included in a list of people Rezko and others tried to get appointed to state boards and commissions, Blagojevich administration records obtained by federal prosecutors showed. Jackson didn't get the appointment.
Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton said the revelation about Jackson doesn't change anything about the purchase of the senator's mansion on Chicago's South Side. Obama was represented by a different real estate agent.
The senator and Mrs. Obama negotiated a fair market price for their house, Burton said, and this is as true today as it was at the time.
Rezko is scheduled to go on trial March 3 on charges he participated in a scheme to get kickbacks from companies seeking state pension business under Blagojevich.
Rezko was a major campaign fundraiser for Blagojevich and Obama.
It takes a web of connections for an obscure civil rights activist to rise to a Presidential contender.

There are rumors rattling around that Obama may be an undicted co-conspirator in Patrick Fitzgerald's case against Rezko.
Think Obama, Anita Hill, Bill Clinton..... all were raised and mentored as potential marionets for their handlers

This is 'lie by omission' in the fact that the DEAL that was done was for the vacant lot next door to the Obama house.
Watchdog groups are questioning why it took Sen. Barack Obama more than a year to disclose additional details of his dealings with indicted fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko.
While Rezko was known to be under federal investigation, Obama toured a Chicago-area home with him to get his opinion of the property, Obama's campaign revealed to Bloomberg News for a story published Monday. The politician later bought the home, with Rezko's help, who bought the adjoining lot in what was effectively a package deal.
Until then, Obama has professed trouble recalling such details during interviews with reporters.
Responding to questions about Rezko and the home sale last month, the Obama campaign repeatedly cited the candidate's on-the-record statements: "I don't recall exactly" conversations about the house with Rezko; "I am not clear" how Rezko decided to join in the purchase; and "I may have mentioned to him the name of a [developer] and he may at that point have contacted that person."
Pressed for more details, the campaign declined to provide any that were not then part of the public record.
The junior senator from Illinois has been answering questions on Rezko's involvement in the house purchase since news of it broke in 2006. In the 2005 deal, Obama purchased a house for $300,000 less than its owners were asking, and Rezko simultaneously bought the adjacent lot from the same seller at full price. Obama denies there was anything unusual about the price disparity. He says the price on the house was dropped because it had been on the market for some time but that the price for the adjacent land remained high because there was another offer.

Quinn read an article Thursday morning, but I can't find it by googling and didn't hear who wrote it. Quinn hasn't updated the latest articles on the front page of his site since 2/20. That was really what got me digging as there is certainly no mention in the MSM of any of this.

Was Johnson on FNC several times awhile back? He looks vaguely familiar, the name sounds kind of familiar, and the CIA background rings a bell. Interviewed about something to do with Valerie Plame business, maybe?
Who would think a democrat politician from Chicago could be corrupt? This is unheard of.
I ripped out cable 10 years ago after Clinton was acquitted in the Senate, so I don’t have first hand knowledge. I read that he has appeared on TV and had some involvement in comment on the Plame affair.
Seems to me that I either read or heard on the radio that Johnson was on Fox for comment at the beginning of the Plame affair and he said something that caused him to be dropped like a hot potato. Until you said something about military intelligence, CIA, I couldn't place him.
