If/When Hillary loses the nomination, will she run under a third party or just divorce Bill?
Me

Posted on 02/24/2008 1:21:41 PM PST by free_life

You may think I am joking, But I am not.

It certainly appears that Hillary's lust for power is so strong she might just take another shot at the Presidency under a new party.

Or maybe she will just resign to being a Senator and ruling NY and dump slick Willie in the process.

Most likely.... unless something extreme happens, she will settle in like Ted Kennedy, a powerful, liberal senator for life.

I wouldn’t put it past Hillary that she has sent feelers to Obama’s campaign that in return for her early concession she gets nominated to the next SCOTUS vacancy.

Bill to Hilliary: You lost the nomination because you weren’t me.

Neither. She is tied to him and Bill to her.

She will go for Senate Majority leader, he will get selected as Ambassador to the UN — if Obama gets elected.

Why would they throw that away?

They have a longstanding understanding. He is seldom in DC with her, she is hardly ever in Ny with him.

But who’ll be her Ms. Toklas?

If she loses, divorce Bill? Possible. More likely become Majority Leader in the Senate by kicking Harry to the side of the road. She wants power, the power the Oval Office will give her. Short of that she reach for the nearest power she can find to control and manipulate to further her cause.

No, of course there is no way she’d do a third party run. She’s not stupid, and she knows that there’s a 0% chance of winning that way and that it would automatically hand the Presidency to McCain.

As for her and Bill, I do wonder exactly to what extent they care about keeping this pretense. If it’s no longer useful to one or both of them, will they finally quit pretending?

Third party? Only if her main goal is to keep Obama out of the WH, becuase the chances of her winning the Presidency when she couldn't even win the nomination of her party is zero. Zero. Especially since she has absolutely no crossover appeal.

If Her Heinous concludes that Bubba’s bumbling cost her
the nom (can’t blame herself, ya know), then he could
easily end up President for Life of Fort Marcy Park.

But she will not run Indy. She has to know that if a
majority of Dems won’t vote for her, no amount of vote
stealing would turn less than 25% of the popular vote
into a win.

Besides, the Dems just got a spoiler today (Ralphie).
The bats will get really cheesed off if Thunder Thighs

They have a longstanding understanding. He is seldom in DC with her, she is hardly ever in Ny with him.

It's even deeper than that. When was the last time the two of them appeared on the stump together? I'm guessing that the Hillary campaign is debating when to pull Bill onstage with her. I'm surprised they haven't done this yet in Ohio...or have they? Maybe they consider him too much of a liability to allow him to suck all of the air out of Hillary's room?

because of those three little words... ...Secret Service protection.

I can do it in two words...

Spousal Immunity.

As long as they're married they can't be forced to testify against each other.

She'd get it anyway, federal law gives the former first lady protection. No, she won't divorce him because of those nine little words - spouses can't be forced to testify against each other.

Spouses can’t be compelled to testify against the other in a court of law for either civil or criminal matters. So for mutual protection they will never divorce.

My gauge of her fuglieness’s standings in this election is too watch real clear politics web site for latest polls. Thus far a large number of polls have her winning in Texas and Ohio .

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/tx/texas_democratic_primary-312.html

Why is everyone shoveling dirt on her ? She is still a threat to be attacked day and night IMO.

On the same site it is interesting to see if she runs McCain will win, If Obama runs he will beat McCain.

Of course these are just polls.......

Kill off Charlie Rangel, run for the House from Harlem. She could be the first First Lady turned Senator turned House Representative, kick Nancy to the curb, and voila, 3rd in line to the Presidency.

A wife cannot testify against her husband and vice versa.

They are in a mutual protective society until death do they part.

Which is why they don’t live together.

She will never leave the Democrat Party—she is loyal in that regard. Nor will she ever divorce Bill. She will hunker down for the moment and work to build power from the Senate. Also, she’s got a lot of scores to settle. I would not bank of Kennedy getting away with his endorsement of Obama. The Clintons will be back like the bad penny.

She will be the nominee.

The question is, will Black America leave the Democrats in droves and unite behind Obama creating a defacto third party?

There are too many Clintonistas that would be out of a job is she loses...ergo, she will not lose...

If she were to run as a third party candidate, it would most likely cost Obama the presidency. She would then become a Democrat pariah - she would be stripped of all her Senatorial power (committee memberships, etc.) and would be taken out in the next New York Senatorial primary.

She may be a megalomaniac, but she is not stupid.

I suspect neither will happen. If/when Hillary loses, she will do everything she can to sabotage Obama’s campaign, in the background. Then she will actively strive to undermine whoever is elected. She might try to latch on to John McCain’s bandwagon, but I doubt McCain would embrace that mistake.

But do not mistake her arrogance and dictatorial nature with true strength. Inside she is a weak and bitter person who has succeeded only by being a bully. And as is typical with bullies, if stopped, their true meanness comes out, but just as a reflection of their impotence.

To make matters worse, she is stricken with paranoia. She sees her enemies everywhere, plotting against her, and so becomes reliant on sycophants and yes men. This is a main reason why her campaign has failed, despite auspicious beginnings. She alienates those who would befriend her, by being so distrustful of their foibles.

She is much like the ‘B’ movie villain, who kills his subordinates, or just whoever is handy, when something doesn’t go according to his plans.

“Now I will show you the price of failure!”

Hopefully, Hillary will be consigned to the dustbin of history, a person who shall go down, as having gone down.
