No political party can prevail nationally on Anglo votes alone, so the long-term danger to Republicans is that their party is sending a message to Latinos that it doesn't want us.

That respectful romance with Latinos ended abruptly in the lead up to the November 2006 elections, when extremists on immigration hijacked the GOP.
One of them, Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, may wish he had taken a more moderate stance instead of essentially adopting the position of the Minutemen and similar radical anti-immigration groups. These groups promulgate their wildly exaggerated portrayal of a cascade of brown people overwhelming our southern borders, running loose to rape, steal and murder on the streets of our cities.

What a crock. Because conservatives do not want anyone who can crawl across the border to receive all the benefits of the USA illegally, we hate Hispanics?? How stupid is that?
If you had a picnic, Geraldo, and set out all the food on the picnic table for your family, and 12 strange families came up and ate about 80% of your carefully prepared meal, would it matter one whit whether those people were white, Chinese, Hungarian, or Nigerian??
Enforcing the law, and deporting illegal aliens is not an extreme positiion. It is law enforcement. There is nothing to apologize for.

A non English speaking population, made up from ILLEGAL immigrants who refuse to assimilate, will never be Americans..
They will simply be Mexicans or XXXXXXX transplanted illegally in America...sucking the life blood and finances from an ignorant and too tolerant population.
They think Latin"s are freeholders and welfare cheats who are too lazy to learn English. They think Latinos have too many babies, and that Latino kids will dumb down our schools. They think Latinos are dirty, diseased, indolent, and more prone to criminal behavior. They think Latinos are just too different from us to become real Americans."
I've never heard anyone state that, imply it, or infer it (until this article).
These people are intruders, they are trespassers and invaders. As a group, they are draining our social systems. More than any other group, they are a danger on our highways (ignoring traffic laws and being uninsured), and they are disproportinally responsible for violent crime.
If they want to be Americans, they should enter the country legally, learn our language, and obey our laws.

He claims to have supported Bush, and that is not really hard to imagine. Geraldo does appear to be pro-troops, although I don’t pay enough attention to him to know for sure, and everyone with two brain cells firing knows that Geraldo would vote for a mailbox post if it was pro-illegal.
Jeraldo lost me as a viewer many moons ago.

Geraldo is so full of sh!t. He only supports hispanic/latino immigration. If the illegals were almost exclusively from Scandinavia instead of Mexico and Latin America I venture to say he would be vociferously anti-immigration.
Hell, he’s on record as referring to the illegals from Mexico and Latin America as “America’s guests!”
