I read somewhere that someone on government assistance earns the equivalent of roughly $12 per hour once additional benefits like food stamps, schooling and government childcare assistance are taken into account.
On the other hand, the guy might have trouble attracting Mexicans if he only offered, say $4 per hour, but they could attract Chinese. So does than mean Chinese are more ambitious than Mexicans or, perhaps, simply less sophisticated about accessing government welfare programs to supplement their income?
If our worthless government was doing what its suppose to, Protect its tax paying citizens, the job would pay $15/hr with bennys!
I live in a town with a Tyson’s and a Honeysuckle white...I’ve seen the way US workers were treated, starting about the mid 1990s. And yes, it is indeed bigotry-and I cannot help but wonder if that’s why “elites” in BOTH parties are so utterly indifferent to the misery illegals are causing native workers. I am not referring only to job loss, but to the murders , the rapes, the DWI’s that maim and kill us, the child molestations, the ruined lives from identity theft (which has caused at least a few suicides), the blighting of our neighborhoods and the resulting financial devastation....
People think it’s just a matter of ‘hard-working’ vs. not and it’s true the Welfare State has bred some poor workers with worse attitudes. But when I remember a number of construction projects, even 10 years ago—very rarely did I see Latino workers.
WHen I did a road trip, I saw white cleaning ladies and custodians throughout the hotels and in fast food places. Blacks and whites filled those menial and blue collar jobs.
The reason the Hispanics get hired isn’t because they’re ALL such hard workers, it’s that they have less ambition, are a malleable labor force and if they get injured (esp in hard labor jobs) you can scoop them up off the ground and get another one. They are a compliant, isolated (in terms of La Migra and depending on work that is still better than trying to find work or the jobs in Mexico) and disposable workforce.
THAT is their appeal. How can Americans compete against that? Plus, we’ve all been brainwashed that everyone is supposed to go to college and get a job in an office somewhere and devalued the trades to a great degree.
Due to competition! (didn’t mean to sound like gov regulated.)
And don't get me started on the devaluation of blue collar jobs , AND of the people who hold them-! I can rant on that issue for hours. :-(
Don’t worry, once McCain or Hillary or Obama is elected none of them will be illegal anymore—they will all mecome legal citizens of the USA! Aint this a great country or what?
Interesting usage of the word 'trade', I do expect that he will get his wish. Maybe he will get the state of Missouri to build some barracks for to house his workers. There sure won't be many purchasing much property on $8.00 and hour, so who will pay the property taxes to fund the education system.
This man really ought to spend some time in a government school and it won't take him long to find out why he is finding few that think $8.00 an hour is a live-able wage... Oh dear I just jumped right into liberal speak.
Jetton's basically on government assistance. Drop his pay to 8 per hour
Has the American filed the paperwork?
Lets see an illegal alien from Mexico can work in the USA for $8 an hour and get free public education and emergency medical care for him and his family or he can work for $10 a day in Mexico with no benefits, which should he choose? Would you work harder for 5 plus times the pay you are currently getting?
Exactly!!
According to Wilkipedia about Wayne County Missouri.
**The median income for a household in the county was $24,007, and the median income for a family was $28,846. Males had a median income of $26,241 versus $17,232 for females. The per capita income for the county was $13,434. About 17.90% of families and 21.90% of the population were below the poverty line, including 30.70% of those under age 18 and 15.60% of those age 65 or over.
Out of a 3,610-person workforce in Wayne County, 3,200 are employed. The unemployment rate is 11.4 percent with 410 out of work. The average hourly wage for the county is $8.02 per hour in the manufacturing sector, and $7.46 in non-manufacturing.**
I have friends who work in welfare. They tell me if you are illegal their bosses say give them anything, DON’T ask questions.
If you are an American, you get asked for every peice of paper and ID you own and most of the time get turned down. That comes from 2 folks I know who work in the system. One is a retired army guy who told me it makes him sick!
Did I answer your question??
No; if you are making $8 an hour or less and are the head of household for a family of 3 or 4 you are most definitely eligible for aid under Federal guidelines. If you are refused go to a different desk... Does this statement make me a liberal or just knowledgeable of some of the process?
The only response is to run a Mexican for Jetton’s state seat in the legislature.

You get help after you deplete any or every resource you have. If you are not aware of the double standard that goes on not in favor of the American citizen who’s country this is, well I am not the one who will convince you.
BESIDES, the statement made by the legislator is RACIST.
Did anybody ask “Rod” how many illegal aliens he employs?
“They’re disposable and as illegals it’s been *harder* for them to sue.”
Please tell me you’re joking.
I handle litigation cases for a large, international insurance company. Believe me, illegals sue in American courts all the time. I have an awful lot of cases where the plaintiff is an illegal.
