CHICAGO Contrary to the conventional wisdom of the day, the real danger facing humanity is not global warming, but more likely the coming of a new Ice Age. What we live in now is known as an interglacial, a relatively brief period between long ice ages. Unfortunately for us, most interglacial periods last only about ten thousand years, and that is how long it has been since the last Ice Age ended. How much longer do we have before the ice begins to spread across the Earths surface? Less than a hundred years or several hundred? We simply dont know. Even if all the temperature increase over the last century is attributable to human activities, the rise has been relatively modest one of a little over one degree Fahrenheit an increase well within natural variations over the last few thousand years. While an enduring temperature rise of the same size over the next century would cause humanity to make some changes, it would undoubtedly be within our ability to adapt. Entering a new ice age, however, would be catastrophic for the continuation of modern civilization. One has only to look at maps showing the extent of the great ice sheets during the last Ice Age to understand what a return to ice age conditions would mean. Much of Europe and North-America were covered by thick ice, thousands of feet thick in many areas and the world as a whole was much colder. The last little Ice Age started as

I think Congress should pass a new set of regulations and tax increases to fight global cooling!
the real problem is not global warming, it is CLIMATE CHANGE..climate change is causing this new ice age, it is causing global cooling, it is causing the sun to rise in the east and set in the west..etc..etc..
You’ve got to be careful reading that site...
Here is one of their current front page articles
>>Bush Administration Unites with Al Qaeda in Kosovo
By Paul Williams Thursday, February 21, 2008
Americas war on terror has come full circle.
By pledging his support of Kosovos declaration of independence from Serbia, President George W. Bush has sanctioned the genocide of thousands of Serbian Christians in the Balkans and the creation, thanks to al Qaeda, of a radical Muslim state at the doorway to Europe. <<
LOL, this was funny.
...there’s a case to be made that we’re on the wrong side in the Balkans.
The Dumbocrats have been on the 'Wrong Side' since 1861!
I've said that since BJ was getting his johnson serviced and we were bombing the Christians and helping the mooslimbs.
Bosnia/Serbia is bullship.
It's the Christians being wiped out by the mooselimbs, and we are helping the mooselimbs.
The next will be ‘Climate Semi-Luke-Warm-Cooling’ ........
>>...theres a case to be made that were on the wrong side in the Balkans.<<
The case can clearly be made we have made a (or several) serious mistakes... and its gonna be really bad if we wind up in combat with Russia defending the Muslims in Kosovo.
But the American President did not “join with Al Quaeda” to “sanction genocide”
and I’m not writing off every news story from that site but they do have a tendency to over-state.
Darn, there goes my all summer wardrobe, and now I need to stock up on the flannels and woolies!
The sky is falling!
Good point

Actually, these scientists blow cold and those others blow hot. Each group thinks their data/hypotheses are correct.
That is an accurate summation, and also in keeping with history.
As you probably already know, Al Qaeda was trained, and equipped under the direction of Wesley Clark in that region, during the Klinton administration.
"theres a case to be made that were on the wrong side in the Balkans."
Yes, a powerful case.
I’m hardly a scientist, but I’ve said this consistantly for years.
If there is any real change going on, it’s getting colder.
As a survivor of the Last Great Ice Age of the 1970’s, take it from me, this time it’s going to be a doozy.
New Ice Age is not the way to look at this. We are in an Ice Age and have been for a very long time. It cycles some but remains inside Ice Age. It is easy to tell if we have an Ice Age or not. There is ice at both poles, there is Ice Age.

I would think that the politicans would start to distance themselves from global warming theory. They are running the risk of being out of touch and looking more and more foolish as the earth cools.

IT'S GONNA BLOW!
I believe it was Bismark who stated "the whole place isn't worth the bones of a Pomeranian Grenadier"?
Can’t be true—AlGore said its Global Warming and he’s the smartest man on the planet—he’s got the awards to prove it.
We have Algore’s IQ number. He would be in over his head in sixth grade science.
>> The next will be Climate Semi-Luke-Warm-Cooling ..
A case for the absent minded Hollywood types to invest in Noble Gas Credits.

Global Warming Will Cause Giant Snakes to Take Over America
Global warming on Free Republic
This is going hit Canada's tourism industry pretty hard.
The first thing we need to do is to purchase Mexico.

Sheeple are as sheeple is!!
I think the we (txpayers) already have...
The USA has owned Mexico since the mid 1800s.
Sad to say, it’s true.
Well, if were going to get all the Mexicans we might as well have some territory too!
How far south do these ice sheets go? This may be the solution to the illegal immigration problem we’ve been looking for!
We’ll all be moving to Mexico to avoid being under a thousand feet of ice!
Hmm...well, Algore did say,
“Everything that should be up, is down; and everything that should be down, is up”!!!
Based on this winter, Al’s temps that should be up, are down.
Glaciers can’t enter an area where there’s a sign forbidding them. Right?
We are currently supporting 20% of Mexico’s population. That should entitle us to 20% of Mexico’s land. I’m thinking their entire west coast would be a fair trade.
I saw a Mexican poll last year that concluded that 70% of Mexico’s adult population would emirgate to the U.S. if possible. 70%!
condi rice favored kosovo and Cheney favored Serbia.
guess who won.
Maybe we could have a check-off on the income tax form where we can give three bucks to fight global warming and/or three bucks to fight global cooling, or just keep our money and buy a couple bottles of beer.
okay I heard this in highschool during the 70’s we were going to freeze to death can that get it right so I can shop for the right clothing. Am I gonna freeze or burn.
They seem alright to me. -they have good news stories to report about Iraq on their site, and that’s sure unusual for the media:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/categories/C64
-after reading the other story, I can see your point.
Similar to the title of this article, “The Coming of a New Ice Age” It’s also an eye grabber.
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/1962
The Kosovo story is very good, but whoever gave it the headline (not necessarily the writer of the article) was overstating the situation, in an attempt to catch the readers attention.
LOL Right on!
IMHO, the examples you provide lend credibility to the site.
I am sure we will militarily prevent Serbia from stopping the Albanians from infiltrating then flooding into another portion of Serbia which we will then break off for another “independent” state.
If you’re Canadian, you can save your three bucks for a cloaking device for your beer fridge, so the Global Warmers can’t find it.
You may freeze. You may burn. I choose to adapt.
