Medical Concerns/Suggestions for Eagles Muster-March 14/15th, 2008
First of all, thank you to all Eagles who will be able to participate to support our U.S. Troops and the cause of American freedom, liberty and truth at Eagles Muster on Saturday, March 15th. That being said, your health and well-being is absolutely critical to the mission that day. Please review the following suggestions and strongly consider being an advocate to your own health and to the safety of your fellow Eagle brothers and sisters around you.
1. Weather appropriate clothing is critical. Many of you remember last March. We froze enough said. The weather reports are inconsistent. You must be prepared with several layers of warm clothing, long johns, thick socks/extra dry pair; hats (covering ears) insulated gloves and a heavy coat or parka. There is little shelter from the cold or rain in the DC area that you will be in. Rain must be prepared for. Bring a plastic rain suit/poncho or a compact disposable poncho available at all sports stores for about $1.00 (this will fit in your pocket). Even if the outside temperature is in the upper 40s to low 60s, you will be ice cold if you get wet. If we are weather blessed the day of the Muster, you can always shed your layers! Enough cannot be said about having appropriate clothing.
2. Bring your medications. If you have a chronic health concern of any sort, your medications are critical as well. There is a certain level of emotion and stress that can occur when standing up for your beliefs against the sorry likes of the hate America crowd. This stress can raise blood pressure for those of you with hypertension (high blood pressure) or heart disease and can affect your blood sugar for those of you with diabetes causing very high or very low blood sugar. Diabetics: You must eat foods throughout the day that contain protein, carbohydrates and a little fat this will help balance your blood sugar a sugary donut or plain bagel in the morning alone, will leave you with severely low blood sugar and you may end up as a casualty. Please dont forget to take your medication and monitor your blood pressure or blood sugar.
3. Bring a small first-aid kit. Assorted band-aids, a small tube of antibiotic ointment, some small packaged hand cleansing wipes or gel and Tylenol or Motrin (Ibuprophen) could be very valuable. A tiny kit can be put together in a zip-lock baggie and slipped into your pocket. Band-aids are very valuable for blisters. If another Eagle needs assistance, always ask if they have any allergies!
4. Bring non-perishable, portable foods and a couple water bottles. You will be active and motivated in your support of America. Sustain yourself with some fruit, snack crackers, dried beef jerky, nuts (if no allergy), pretzels, peanut butter crackers, breakfast/granola bars, glucerna bars/shakes for diabetics. Bring some non-caffinated drinks (water is best) to hydrate yourself!
5. Buddy Up with another Eagle. Whether you are joining the Muster with other Eagles, or coming on your own we are all in this together! Always stay in the company of another Eagle during Eagle activities. It is up to us to look out for one another. If you experience some type of medical or other problem, let a fellow Eagle know right away tell someone if you have a serious allergy or health problem (high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes, history of stroke, etc.) so your Eagle Buddy can get you the right help.
6. Avoid physical confrontation if possible but take no sh*t. Were standing for America!
May God bless each and every Eagle at Eagles Muster, on March 15th, 2008. Send the word to all we need each and every one of you Eagles Up!
Kathie Marino RN E-mail Kathie (for contact info FReepmail mountainflower) for any Eagles Muster health related questions.
I have two volunteers who are willing to provide sleeping arrangement in the DC area for Eagles that may be tight on funds. One lives in VA and can accept 3 visitors; the other lives in Maryland and can accept 2 visitors. It's clear that these brothers are offering heartfelt support to another brother or sister. Contact me if this will help you. (FReepmail mountainflower for contact info)
We thank all of you that have opened your wallets to help defray the costs associated with the March 14/15 events. We have kept the costs to a minimum....no expensive stage, in fact no stage at all; portable but effective public address system/podium; miminal porta potties; adequate medical (Amb w/2 EMT personnel); and other smaller items. We are left with several thousand dollars of obligations and need your help.
We incurred one sizeable cost today for medical care of all our Eagles amounting to $960.00...if there is anyone out there that would like to personally take care of this item, just click on the Eagle Up logo below, enter the $960.00 and complete the form. (Sorry, you will have to go to the website. I am good, but not that good that I could get the logo here AND get it to work. Mtn Flwr) http://eaglesup.us
We hope you can give the minimum gift of $25.00. We have made this as easy as pie. Just click the Eagles UP logo below that says $25.00.
However, if you can help more please select the the button above "Pick Your Own Amount" to input your designated amount. This also will work for those who may wish to provide $10 or $15.
If you prefer to send a check or money order, please send payable to Eagles Up, Inc., PO Box 202, Mequon, WI 53092
All gifts are equally appreciated and benefit our cause to support our troops, our fallen and their families.

Is anybody looking for transportation from the Comfort Inn in Ballston to WS II in Silver Spring, leaving Ballston after the scheduled departure time for the Eagle Bus (about 0700 on Friday)? Jerry Bell has an option for those arriving DC after the Eagles Up Bus departs.
Or does anybody have room for any passengers from Ballston to the WS II event after the regular Eagles bus leaves? If so, please contact Jerry Bell ASAP. Your fellow Eagles thank you. (contact info available thru mountainflower)
BUMP! REMINDER of the link to view the DC event LIVE for those who cannot make it! See POST # 101.
All the best on the 15th! VICTORY!!!!
? I haven’t posted any. I am confused.
There is one person going to DC to attend the Eagles Up events that needs a rider or needs to ride with someone.
Here's the deal........the person in question will drive from Wilson, NC up I-95 to DC and can pick someone up. Doesn't want to drive the 8 hours alone.
If you are driving up I-95 and can give this person a ride to DC, then that will work also.
If you're going to accommodate this need, please reach me so I can put in contact with Col Riley and person in question.
EMAIL from Col. Riley with prayer request, to all:

http://www.eaglesup.us - Where there is no offense, there is no effect.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Spirit, let Colonel Riley know we have received his request and are praying....some of the prayer he will find in this thread the the other prayer thread specifically to support our troops and those who support them. Some is here. And for each written prayer, he should know many, many of us are praying in one accord where it cannot be seen and God WILL provide an answer. Thanks for letting us know of the request. Now let’s pray:
Heavenly Father, Awesome God, Mighty Warrior King, how we love You. We adore You with everything within us for there is no other God but You. Lord God, this country was founded on Your Truth and Your principles. We have always known that there is a price to maintaining the ability to live in the freedom we enjoy....it must be fought for to retain. Every generation before has paid the price and now it is our turn. But these last 40 years many have forgotten that freedom is not granted by the opposition, it must by won. There will always be those who seek to tyrannize others because of their hunger for power in their own right in order to validate the value of their own lives. But Lord God this is NOT Your way. Whoever is least shall be first. There is NO power outside You. Everything is in Your hands and not our own. Yet there will always be those who seek power for themselves and will stop at nothing to be able to oppress others for their own benefit. Lord God, You have said the fasting You desire is that we would join with You in setting the captives free, in helping the oppressed...In every way before we have gone to do just that - to help those who are captive find their freedom. We have not gone to take ownership and opppress them ourselves, but to conquer their oppressors and equip them to live in freedom on their own. Then we leave and go home! Lord God, this war is no different. We fight to keep the terrorists off our land. We fight to help the oppressed obtain freedom and govern themselves in it.
But here in our own land are those who would dishonor the work of our military men and women. Enough is enough. You have rallied a people, a group of patriots to stand up for our troops here so they can fight for us there. Lord God, many of them are coming to the D.C. area this weekend specifically to show our nation and the world that anti-war protestors are not the voice of America, they are just a voice.
Lord God, feelings and emotions are running high in the patriots. They are riled! By Your power and in Your love grant grace to all who come, to act with decorum and respect especially when the opposition does not. Cause these patriots to exhibit self-control to a degree which can come only from You. Provide opportunities for the honor they desire to pay our military, their families and our fallen to be effective - way beyond what they have imagined. Create opportunities for new relationships to be built between Your people which will continue to grow after each returns to their respective part of the country.
Lord God we ask again for safe passage for each and every patriot. We ask for blessings upon their household and families while they are away and no negative repercussions upon their return.
Lord God release Your warrior angels around Capitol Hill to surround these patriots and keep them safe.
We even ask for two things which seem impossible - that what the opposition plans will either be less successful than expected or that the media finally begins to understand that informed America is behind our troops AND their mission! Secondly, we ask that You would begin to open the eyes of the opposition to see the fallacies upon which they stand - that some of those who think it just sounds good to be anti-war will begin to see that the fruit of most of these individuals is NOT peace!!! (that the root motive of this movement is not what it is purported to be on the surface).
Lord God, we know You will fulfill Your promises so we wait in joyful expectation for Word of what You have done.
Do reveal Yourself and Your supernatural power in what happens this weekend with these dear patriots. Let there be a multitude of “God-stories” which result from their time in the D.C. area.
We thank You in advance for how You will provide for and orchestrate all perfectly. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen
Yes, will do and
