Power’s BEST role. He had never played a villain before, and shocked the living hell out of movie audiences. He had always played beautiful men, heroes, morally upstanding gentlemen. This was a STRETCH, to put it mildly. I’m not sure, but I think he was nominated for an Oscar for this performance. He was so good that you didn’t completely hate him, and felt sorry for him.

Getting off topic here I know but...
The man was so good-looking he was type-cast as the hero in most of his films, even if as the tragic hero as in BLOOD AND SAND.
Another one of his I really enjoy is PRINCE OF FOXES....
BTW, Tyrone Power served in the USMC in World War II.
