Wisconsin 2004: "The reports of more ballots cast than voters recorded were found to be true."
National Review Online ^ | 02/26/08 | Jim Geraghty

Posted on 02/26/2008 8:55:17 AM PST by AngelesCrestHighway

We're continually told that Republicans are being paranoid when they want voters to show ID to prevent fraud.

Well, take a look at a newly-released investigation of the Milwaukee Police Department on voter fraud in the 2004 election — the year, as you'll recall, that John Kerry carried Wisconsin by about 11,000 votes out of almost 3 million.

The first screaming conclusion: "The reports of more ballots cast than voters recorded were found to be true."

UPDATE: This is fascinating reading, and huge, as it obliterates the "voter fraud is an urban legend" argument.

Page 8: "For example, a woman residing in the 4900 block of N. 18th with no recorded date of birth listed is also recorded in the 4900 block of N. 108th with a date of birth. This voter did reside at the N. 108th address at the time of the November General Election. She is now registered to vote and, more important, recorded as voting in two different Wards in the City of Milwaukee."

During a section dealing with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the report states, "over 10 percent of the ballots cast in Ward 39 during the 2004 General Election were not properly certified by the Election Inspectors or were ineligible to be cast in this Ward." (page 23) "Over 2600 additional persons who do not live in Sandburg Hall are registered and able to vote from an address where they do not reside."

Yes, I'd say republicans have reason for concern. I smell acorns!

The frightening thing about this is that it will continue because: a) it is so easy to do, b) there will be no consequenses for doing it. There will be no voter I.D. bills passed in the states where the fraud is occuring because most of the people in power have benefitted from fraud and probably encourage it.

Biometric ID should be required for voting. Fingerprints will do for now, with computerized matching to the print on the registration, and recording the voter as having voted so s/he can re-vote elsewhere. And for any election to national office, the system should be national, automatically matching the fingerprint to all registered voters in the nation, immediately blocking voting at other locations by anyone presenting the same fingerprint.

If someone tries to vote in New Jersey in the morning and in New York in the evening, s/he will blocked at the New York precinct becuase his/her fingerprint will show as already having voted. It should also automatically cancel voter registrations at all locations other than the first one where the voting occurred, and the individual’s remaining registration should be flagged for post-election verification.

I am VERY wary for this November...

bearing in mind that the closer an election is, the more that situation is ripe for fraud. And this November could be 4th-down-and-inches-to-go close.

Vote fraud is very real. And is a needed practice of the left to win. And vote fraud in heavy dems cities is massive.

Durham NC has more registered voters than residents 18 and older.

Hey....they won’t do anything about it. Kerry is probably sitting back laughing about it. Look at the Democrats today. They have totally changed how they view our country. They are running a socialist and a do nothing for President. Obama is black, are we ready for a black President? I don’t think so. He is a pacifyer and possibly a muslim. Do we take a chance on turning this country over to muslims? Not worth the chance to me. The thing is......50% of the people in this country fall for Hillarys and Obama’s scams. What’s happened to our people. Sounds like they are afraid of their own shadows.

With today’s technology, it would be easy eliminate most voter fraud. Each voting place should have a video camera where a voter states his or her name and address which is the minimal information given to the election worker. Each party would be given a copy of the video recording. They could simply sift through the record for fraudulent voters. The evidence would be on the recording to prosecute. I think most criminals would be reluctant to provide video evidence of their crime and voter fraud would go way down.

My brother, who lives in San Francisco, tells about attempting to register as a Republican when he moved into the city.

He mailed in his registration information with his party affiliation listed as "Republican". He got no voter card.

Three weeks later, he did the same thing. After two weeks, still no voter card.

Once more, he submitted a registration application and, once more, got no response.

Then he decided to register as a Democrat . . . . . . his voter card arrived in four days.

I like this idea. It’s not as invasive as a biometric chip mentioned above (scary idea.)

I’m actually more worried about diebold vote counting fraud than actual people voting multiple times fraud. There is a funny video over at “The Onion” right now about Diebold accidentally releasing the election results early. Really good.

I’ve also heard about Karl Rove’s mailers with regards to vote manipulation. (You send out mailers to voter addresses requesting that they be responded to and returned. If they are not returned it is assumed that the voter does not live at the address and the vote is challenged and tosses out. You won’t even be aware that your vote didn’t count.) Can’t say for sure if it’s true but I bet there’s dirty tricks all around. It’s probably something he learned from the dems.

I hate to be paranoid but sometimes you just can’t help yourself.

“until some D.A. somewhere in the country grabs this bull by the horns”

The Democrats have this program down.
When a DA begins to research this stuff, they run to the media and scream “Political Bias”, or the dreaded “RACISM!!!”. End of Career....

When the boss of the DA’s demands action, and replaces those US Attorneys who won’t investigate voter fraud, Democrats scream “SCANDAL!!” to the media, and demand congressional hearings, call for President’s impeachment, as well as the removal of the head of the Justice Department...

We live in a MEDIA SOCIETY, folks. And the Democrats play the Propaganda game far better than we do...

I live in Wisconsin and I think it was really neat to see that Hillary had to put up with the cheating that goes on in black areas like the Republicans do year in and year out. They get a least a extra 35,000 votes from cheating every election.

No body goes into the black areas to check out the voting fraud because of being a afraid.

There are two areas with a propensity to vote fraud: absentee ballots and inner cities. So, eliminate absentee ballots except for the military, and use the “inked thumb” for everyone else.

There. Fixed.

In Maryland in 1994, people who were known ot be in prison or dead voted anyway. Apparently, they voted heavily for Parris Glendening, who won by fewer votes than teh number of “disputed” ones.

Why does this happen predominantly in Dimmycrap states?

And if I'm reading it correctly, on page 8 of the original report it states the following: So are they saying that just in the City of Milwaukee alone - there were 5,429 more ballots cast than registered voters!?

And Kerry won by about 11,000 for the whole state.

Homeless bums, felons, illegal aliens and college students... gee I wonder who these folks cast more of their illegal and duplicate votes for, Kerry or Bush? Hmmm.....

Do you remember the red and blue County map after Bush's second win? The blue counties like Cook County in Illinois go through the paper when shown as a pie chart. NYC is the same. St Louis Mo is another. Anywhere you think of voter fraud is a blue county.

The other irony is that the country was mostly red when counted county by county.

No body goes into the black areas to check out the voting fraud because of being a afraid.

I've posted this story before but it bears repeating.

I was a poll watcher in PA in 2004 and they sent me to a black precinct that went 100% for gore in 2000. Algore got all 419 available votes.

In 2004, me {and my fellow poll watchers} along with my snub nose S & W 38, video cam, digital camera, went to the polls.

The final vote count was kerry 202, GWB 4.

Our presence didn't change the demonRAT vote toward kerry but we did keep most of the dead from voting, and kept the repeat votes to a minimum.

GWB still lost in PA, but it was due to voter fraud. Some precincts in Philly voted 104% for kerry.

Our state reps passed a voted ID law last year, but fat, fast eddy, the pimp gov. vetoed the law.

Without voter fraud, the demonRATs would not win in PA.

What the story omitted was the fact that in 2000 Bush lost to Gore in Wisconsin by only five thousand votes out of more than two million cast. After the election a Dem operative from New York City named Susan Gilligan, or some name like that, publicly bragged about passing out smokes and cash in Milwaukee to street people to vote for Gore. No outrage there. (smirk)

That sort of thing only works in places where ordinary things are hard to get. In the US, you can get purple ink and every other color all over the place. Trust me, we don’t want the US to become the sort of place where that system would work!

strong residue of a certain color ink on them. And of course there are the religious objectors (JWs). And leftist troublemakers who would disrupt the election process by showing up at the precincts with purple thumbs when they actually hadn’t voted yet, demanding records be checked. And I guarantee that in some hard core pockets of organized vote fraud, the real ink would be replaced with one whose color can be chemically neutralized just as fast as it went on. Really, low tech security measures just don’t work in a high tech country.

I’m actually more worried about diebold vote counting fraud than actual people voting multiple times fraud.

Fraudulent electronic ballot stuffing can be detected far, far more easily than fraudulent registering and people voting in multiple areas.

You can use sign-in records to make sure there are the correct number of votes cast in a precinct, and the newer diebold voting machines print a paper record that the voter can see and verify when they vote.

In most cases, you should be able to detect that there was a problem, and go back to the paper trail to discover what happened. It does however require good post election canvasing, which should be observed by independent people as well as someone from both parties to make sure that it is done right.

The biggest problems are still low tech, and they exist because the politicians that are in power won't allow for meaningful reform.
