A 16-year-old Sauk Village girl who suffocated her newborn daughter and placed the baby in the trash was sentenced to 5 years of probation and counseling in Cook County Juvenile Court on Tuesday.
..also sentenced the girl to complete 100 hours of community service at a day-care center.
...that the girl has had no problems at home and that she goes to tutoring after school for help in English.

At the very least, she should be sterilized.
Not, I imagine, the day care center where the judge's kids are dropped off.

It is stories like this that make me glad I don't have too many more decades on this earth. What a society we have become.

She murders a newborn baby, probably looking into that precious face. Then she is sentenced to do work in a day care center while she is being treated for PTSD, supposedly as a result of committing murder?
Some how I think she was mental before she did that! Do they not put people in padded cells anymore?
Must be nice to have a vagina in this country. You can murder your child without worrying about the wishes of the father up until 6-9 months (depending on the state) for any reason you like and then even after the child is born you can still murder them in absolutely cold-blooded fashion, in spite of the fact the country is now set up to take abandoned children off the hands of irresponsible or uncaring mothers-—or if you want to keep it you can sock it the biological father for 18-21 years of support.
Compared to the likely sentence for a man who would AT LEAST have received SOME prison time.

I wonder what day care center owner the judge will sentence with this girl to perform her public service.
I want to keep sucking air for a bit longer but I can’t imagine what kind of judge would see this case and say, “yeah, I know that you can pretty much LEGALLY abandon your child these days (partially to stop women from committing infanticide) and there IS the abortion option at SOME point during pregnancy, but golly gee, this is such a sad case. This young woman is childless mother and that’s gonna cause PTSD and her family will also need counseling.”
Meanwhile, a man can get angry, shake a baby too forcefully (but still less deliberate a death than suffocation) and he’ll get prison (though still not enough in most cases.)

It takes two to tango. In today’s legal climate the woman has all the control over her “body” and the man has nothing.
The women can use birth control as well. Perhaps if you start making women responsible they’ll stop giving it away to any guy that asks.

Yes, I’m aware about abortion doctors.
But I’m talking about the double standard. Men are often the judges in family court cases and unjust laws (the VAWA, for example) were enacted by male legislators. So some males being complicit in this is irrelevant to the point.
As for responsibility, how can you make that claim when men are often lied to, the paternity even in a marriage is in doubt (but the man foolishly believes otherwise and legally unless he challenges almost immediately it’s HIS obligation) and they have no control over the product of that ‘responsibility.’
With responsibility comes rights too. You can’t say to a class of people that they’re JUST as responsible for a problem but they have no power over that situation and, in fact, can be obligated for the remainder of their productive years while the other party doesn’t need to weigh or consider such factors.
This is not even throwing in the double standard in sentencing for female violent offenders vs. male, the ease with which a man can be locked up or falsely accused (women rarely serve time for false accusations of rape or abuse,) and can be shotgunned to death for suggesting his wife wear high heels or ‘tart up’ a bit for a more exciting sex life (the Winkler murder case) or be run over repeatedly by his jealous soon-to-be-ex and have that same killer have advocates for her release.
Maybe she was just another whore looking for another handout!

Any guy whose going to tell a woman to keep her legs together had better keep his fly zipped! If you’re willing to participate in a behavior that’s been pretty well-established to cause the creation of a baby, don’t act surprised and cheated and tricked and offended when it happens. This is the problem with the “contraceptive mentality”. A woman does not bear the obligation to prevent pregnancy for your convenience. If a man does not want to be a father, his responsiblity is NOT to use contraception, or to ask if she is, it is simply to NOT HAVE SEX.
Why? Because she did such a good job "taking care of" her own child, that she'd be useful in this baby barn also? Weeding out useless feeders, what?
Will any parent using this facility know about the kind of care dispensed at this place? Looks like an appendage of Hillary care.

An effective death penalty would be nice. She’s guilty and of absolutely no use to society. Don’t feed her, clothe her, care for her, or otherwise waste any money on her. Put her in a cattle chute and let her experience a pneumatic piston to the skull. Painless, which is better than she deserves, but it removes her from society and doesn’t cost the taxpayers much of anything.

These idiot judges that sentence criminals to work with the public make me sick. What makes them think we want to have these creeps foisted upon us? It's not our job to babysit the criminal element who should be in prison for their crimes. I would be happy to see this business of "community service" done away with. If they don't want to put the guilty person in jail, then fine the crap out of them, or make them pick up trash along the highway, but don't make private citizens have to accomodate them when they're trying to run a business. This girl belongs in jail for killing an innocent baby.
She does not speak English. Killing a child is a “crime of moral turpitude.†Under the Immigration Code, illegals AND legal permanent residents are subject to immediate deportation if convicted of such a crime. If, as is likely, this woman is not a citizen, has this despicable judge notified the ICE? If not, this is yet another dereliction of duty on his part. Although not as great a dereliction of course, a turning this monster loose among innocent children at a day care center.
