Pelosi promised to reduce gas prices, but they are now more than 50% higher than they were when she was sworn in as Speaker. And what is she doing to reduce them? Notta, as far as I can see.

If the GOP were smart, they would play the John Galt trick on the Dems. Give them what they want, and watch them pay the price.

The Democrats use simple mob mentality. Just get mad at the nearest person without actually thinking an issue through.

Dear God in heaven, can't these people just leave well enough alone?

Remove the tax incentives to look for more oil and the industry won't look for it. No new supplies will be found and increasing demand ensures a continued rise in prices at the pump. A brilliant strategy. Exactly the kind of bone headed approach to be expected from Democrats and socialists.

I agree - let them have the oil companies. Any price they pay will be gravy. To start with it will be mere payback for the oil companies' uselessness to Bush, the last 7 years.

Exxon makes about .10 per gallon profit. State and federal governments make about .50 per gallon. That’s all you need to know.

...the House of Representatives is expected to approve a measure that would eliminate roughly $18 billion in tax incentives for oil and gas companies, and use the savings to fund tax credits and other incentives for renewable energy...

I am not a Government mouth piece but, when Exxon-Mobil decides that a single retiring CEO should be compensated for his services to an upward of 400 Million Dollars plus other trinkets for the rest of his life, I am having a really hard time why the taxpayer should subsidize this company.
It looks to me that E-M will do just fine without the taxpayer subsidies.
