This may be a hard show to listen to. I imagine Rush is devastated. So sad.

To: Biggirl
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
O Christ! Whose voice the waters heard
And hushed their raging at Thy word,
Who walked’st on the foaming deep,
And calm amidst its rage didst sleep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
Most Holy Spirit! Who didst brood
Upon the chaos dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give, for wild confusion, peace;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
O Trinity of love and power!
Our brethren shield in danger’s hour;
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them wheresoe’er they go;
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
I know the Navy uses this, but Eternal Father (the original poem) still applies.

Sorry; didnt mean to add a flip tone to the thread on this sad day.I liked what you said. And IMO there's nothing wrong with a little cheer when we're sad.

No! This is the first I heard of Buckley’s death! How sad it is for all of us to lose him. Sympathy and prayers for his family and close friends.

This is very sad. It's symbolic in some ways that the conservative movement really had died.
Don't think so. This is a call for US to carry on the torch.

Remembering the Giant who taught me conservatism.
So True!! He taught me it, too — with his NR I stole from my dad.
William F. Buckley has gone to his reward.
He is making HEAVEN more Conservative — he is now there talking to Ron Reagan and my dad...:-)

This is what I wrote on a website dedicated to stand-up comedians conversations:
I would rather not list some achievements from some web site. Instead, I will share what he did for me.
WFB started the National Review. While I rarely read it, the ideas this publication presented are the same ideas that have formed my conservative slant. His influence on Rush Limbaugh made it so one could present conservatism with humor, making it more appealing and easier to understand.
WFB aided in showing that one not need be a half-wit redneck to be conservative. He also showed that one can remain a conservative throughout life so long as one truly believes it for more than personal expediency.

If, instead it adjusts, it will some day be molded into the same socialism that engulfs everything not conservative.
"Conservatism" is just a way of giving a term to the philosophy and ideas on which this country was founded. That philosophy and those ideas cannot be adjusted. They are a part of this country. They are a part of history. They are a part of our Declaration of Independence, of our Bill of Rights, of our Constitution. All one has to do to be reminded of Conservatism is learn the history of the beginnings of this country. What we need is an Awakening. What we need is an Education Reform. We need to start to demand that THIS COUNTRY'S TRUE HISTORY be taught in ALL SCHOOLS.
The only way Conservatism dies is if all Americans cease to remember the philosophy and the ideas on which this country was founded.
