WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush, acknowledging that the U.S. needs to burnish its image in the Islamic world, named a Texas entrepreneur as liaison to The Organization of the Islamic Conference.
Sada Cumber, who is a Muslim by faith, is the first U.S. special envoy to the intergovernmental organization, which represents more than 50 Islamic states and promotes Muslim solidarity in social and political affairs.
Bush said the United States is misunderstood and that Cumber's mission is to explain to the Islamic world that America "is a friend of freedom" and that the United States values the freedom of religion.
"Now, a lot of people love America, don't get me wrong," Bush said in the Oval Office where he met with Cumber. "After all, there's a lot of people trying to come here because of what we stand for. But we've got work to do in certain areas."
Creating a U.S. envoy to the group comes as the protracted war in Iraq has fanned anti-American sentiment across the Muslim world. The OIC, which has 57 members, was created in 1969 in response to an arson attack on the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem.
Bush's new envoy has founded six companies in the past 25 years and currently is chairman of SozoTek Inc., a global imaging technology company in Austin.
Before founding SozoTek, he was chairman of Psionic Technologies Inc., an Internet security software company acquired by Cisco Systems in 2002. In 1995, he co-founded Applied Science Fiction, a company specializing in a digital dry film process whose technologies were recently acquired by Kodak. He previously owned Triumph Flexo Industries, which was acquired by American Greetings in 1994.
Cumber also serves as the chairman of TCMS-LLC, an intellectual property development company, and he is a principal in Texas Global-LLP, a partnership that manages the strategic intersection between business, government and public affairs.
Of course, he wasn't denounced AT the conference but only once it got out into the press ...

What we have here, is their own official to further their jihad by political and financial means, while undermining the kuffar at their own UN by voting as a block. They ignore the UN Declaration of Human rights whenever they see fit, and came up with their own rules, in effect conceding that islam is not compatible with human rights no matter how much lip service they pay to agreements.
...It is clear that Islamic militants are quite aware of the incompatibility of Islam and The 1948 Declaration of Human Rights. For these militants met in Paris in 1981 to draw up an Islamic Declaration of Human Rights which left out all freedoms that contradicted Islamic law...
In 1990 the IDHR became the "Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam," and was backed by the OIC itself. Essentially, the OIC picks up the ball from the terrorists and all those "misunderstanders of Islam" trying an attempt at plausible deniability, but not doing a good job of it.
Their aim of "coordinating action" to "safeguard the Holy Places" is in effect a declaration of acting as the saud/wahhabis international political arm to keep the hijaz under wahhabi control to legitimize their vile message as the custodians of the holy sites.
The only reason they want to unity in the islamic ummah is so they can build the strength to undermine and defeat us "filthy kuffar" once and for all.
Or as they say in the islamic world, "First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people."
How exasperating!
This is just more idiocy driven by political correctness.
This move is based on the false premise that somehow we just have a misunderstanding, a failure to communicate, and that it is the fault of the USA for not expressing ourselves adequately.
Once we spell out our good points in single syllable words all the muslim world will love us.
Even President Bush can't honestly believe that, can he?
The muslim world understands only too well that we are the friend and promoter of freedom.
In fact, that is one of the main reasons they hate us.
See how welcome freedom is in Afghanistan? Iraq? Iran?
The last thing the powerful Imams and Sheiks in muslim-land want is for the USA to come around putting ideas of freedom in the heads of their slaves to Islam.

Nor did his committment to dividing Israel and creating a "Palestinian" state. Nor did his calling Israel's presence in the West Bank an "occupation." Nor did his incessant Saudi ass-kissing.
Bush doesn't have to worry -- at the rate things are going the U.S. will have its own Presidential envoy to the Muslim world by this Nov.
