MOSCOW: Russia warned Iran on Wednesday that unless it ceased uranium enrichment within days Moscow would support new UN sanctions being prepared by the West against the Islamic Republic.

The Russian envoy to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin, said Moscow could back a sanctions resolution that the Western powers have drafted and which they want to discuss in the Security Council this week.

Churkin said via a video link from New York that Russia had undertaken "certain commitments" to "support the resolution that has been drafted in the past month" unless Iran stopped enrichment activities within the next few days.

Maybe they don’t want to see their reactor destroyed before they get paid in full.
The mullahs might be kind of late paying for a heap of rubble.

You beat me too it - I was going to suggest that Iran must have settled up their debt...

Maybe now they’re really concerned that Kosovo might get “help” from Iran. It could really get nasty. It’s tough when you play both sides. Somebody always gets stuck in the middle when the music stops. Just a thought.

I can see the business logic here, Russia demands Iran to stop, Iran of course works even faster and harder and also becomes a more serious threat, Allied forces (or maybe not....) destroy Iran’s nuclear equipment and a sizable chunk of “obsolete” SAMs (expired munitions) so after the dust settles Russia get a phone call, “You got any new IMPROVED SAMs?”

Talk about job security being a gunrunner!
