"Mr. P.C." McCain: How he wants our votes but not our introductions
self | 2/27/08 | levotb

John McCain couldn't handle the outstanding rebel-rousing introduction by Cincinnati conservative talk show host, Bill Cunningham the other day--a man the McCain Campaign had hired to introduce the Senator. Instead, Wussie McCain immediately "apologized" profusely to Obama for Cunningham's using Obama's full name over and over during the intro. This shows how "p.c." and how "wussie" John McCain is when it comes to worrying about how the left is going to perceive him. Instead of concentrating on gaining base support which he sorely needs and can't win without, he's playing to the left and saying to conservatives, "S**w you! I can win without you!".

I watched that introduction by Cunningham and there was NOTHING "nasty" or untoward in it. He didn't call the Jewish religion "a gutter religion", and he didn't call New York City "Hymietown"! As I see it, he was asking, "Do we really want a President who, if he is not a Muslim now, is going to (as Obama has said he would) 'cozy up' or "make friends" with Islamic dictators like Iran's dictator?" That was the message I got from Cunningham's words.

The ensuing flap is something McCain probably said "I could care less about", but he should care about it because it's hurting him, big-time, with conservatives who might otherwise be inclined to vote for him. Limbaugh, Hannity et al are rushing to defend one of their own, Bill Cunningham, as well they should. If McCain thinks he's "scored points" with conservatives, he needs to "think again". After McCain's shafting Cunningham following Cunningham's introduction, Cunningham said he "...would never vote for McCain" although he wouldn't vote for Hillary, either.

Besides being a nasty old man, John McCain still doesn’t value the words or accolades from conservatives--even those who have endorsed him. I think conservatives should "return the cold shoulder" towards McCain in November, big-time!

McPain in the arse cares more about the LEFT and the Independents than the GOP base.

The GOP LEFT me.

I think the relevant question is what is the man’s name?

McCain's failure to defend the guest invited to his fundraiser is indefensible.

He might as well step down now and free his delegates to vote their minds at the convention.

Bravo! But we need to tell the GOP that he is a non starter way before the convention if we want to win this election.

McGovern and Mondale will be laughing at McCain come Nov. 5th—that is how badly he will lose at this rate.

Past actions are the best indicator of future actions. McCain has telegraphed his true intentions and core beliefs for the last eight years. We can’t even feign surprise at this point.

And I am sure there is more to come from this arrogant old fart.

Good thing McCain is handling this like an adult.

Contrary to these juvenile losers who think degrading politics to it's lowest common denominator is going to win elections.

Unfortunately many on our side are just coming off as frustrated and meanspirited.

And he does it at a time when some of us were beginning to give him an ear. How low-class of this guy to do that to someone putting forth an effort on his behalf. It’s a great wake-up and take notice. This is no conservative.

What McLame could have done was point out to the press that the sentences containing Hussein’s full name were about his being a corrupt Chicago Daley Machine politician, and his bribe from Tony Rezko, etc. In other words, USE the media’s interest in the “racial slur” to get on TV and get substantive points out into the ether.

Doesn’t anyone working for McLame know this?

You are, as usual, clueless.

Osamabama can be attacked as Hussein all day long by surrogates from afar but only a political moron would do the dirty work himself.

Cunnigham put McCain in a bad spot.

NO CANDIDATE, not even MYTH, would be able to do anything other than what McCain did.

McCain should apologize for exposing people to Cunningham’s hair.

Hah! I am useless too. I am praying she gets the nomination so I can vote for her in November.

Cunningham’s thinking is I believe like Ann’s and others, that people will be fed up with the jimmy carter BS they will rush to elect a conservative in 2012. I don’t know, but I can’t vote for mccain. I could vote for Hilary.

Any presidential candidate takes responsibility for the comments of those who introduce him.

McCain is trying to shed the McNasty image.

He was right to distance himself from Cunningham’s unpresidential comments.

McCain is a wuss.

Call a Muslim a Muslim for heaven's sake. No, for the USofA's sake.

http://www.freedomsenemies.com/_more/obama.htm

Barak Obama is 50% Caucasian, 43.75% Arab, and only 6.25% Negro-African. He doesn't have the lawful 12.5% Negro-African to legally claim to be African-American. Barak Obama is ARAB-AMERICAN.

From an email from someone who returned to the States on Feb 11 this year: “We were asked everywhere about the Presidential race in America. There was great interest. The Jews came up to us and asked us many questions. They said they do not want the Clintons again. They warned us that Obama is a Muslim, not a Christian. In Egypt, the Arabs said the same thing to us; they said Obama is Muslim and they are amazed that Americans would consider electing a Muslim President of America!!”

I agree—McCain was a class act. I watched Cunningham on Hannity tonight—sorry, but I think he sounds like an idiot. If he is representative of the majority (of conservatives), he makes “us” look ridiculous.

Bill Cunningham is supporting Hillary Clinton. He is useless.

And erratic. As are most who can't or won't control their big mouths.

I saw him on FOX claiming using Obama's middle name repeatedly was meant to show "respect".

He didn't even seem to care that people could see how dishonest he was.
