DEMOCRATS WANT TO FUND ACORN, LA RAZA WITH STIMULUS BILL
By Ed Morrissey
The Democrats reacted in anger when Senate Republicans blocked their latest economic stimulus bill. Harry Reid said that bankers and lenders were high-fiving each other in hallways after the GOP torpedoed the bill, but perhaps a better explanation of Reid's disappointment comes from Bob Casey (D-PA). The beneficiaries of the bill turns out to be somewhat different than advertised:
Mr. CASEY: We want to do a couple of things with this legislation, which we know is the Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008. Our Majority Leader, Senator Reid, and our leadership and the members of the Democratic Caucus set it out fairly specifically. A couple of basic things this legislation would have done: first of all, it would have continued what we started in the end of last year, foreclosure prevention counseling dollars, to give money to organizations around the country that are certifiably expert at this, organizations like La Raza. I know the presiding officer knows that group. We know also the Association for Community Organizations for Reform Now, known by the acronym ACORN. Theyre headquartered in Philadelphia. These are organizations which understand what a lender has to deal with but more importantly deal with borrowers when theyre borrowing money, when theyre dealing with the difficulty and complexity of borrowing money. These organizations would have helped even more so than theyre helping now with $200 million more of counseling money. Thats not going to happen right now because of what the other side did; they blocked that money by blocking this legislation.
ACORN? Would this be the same ACORN that conducted voter fraud in Washington, resulting in felony charges against its officers there in 2007? Isn't this the same organization that generated complaints and questions about their practices in several other jurisdictions during the 2006 election? How does shoving money into the pockets of ACORN provide an economic stimulus?
This doesn't look like a stimulus package. It looks more like an investment in further voter fraud.

I think it is unconstitutional for the federal government to use taxpayer money to fund political organizations. Show me where the Constitution allows that.

This news item needs to be blasted across the country by Rush and Sean and Beck on Monday. Funding these Democrat voter-fraud groups with our tax money under cover of “economic stimulus” is disgusting.

Who needs the Southwest anyway?
45 states should be enough for any country.

Not only that, but La Raza is a racist organization. They also call for the re-annexation of the South West back to Mexico.

This is from 2004...
Subprime loan market grows despite troubles
In September, Acorn, a community organization representing low- and moderate-income families, announced an agreement with Citigroup to create an affordable lending program for home buyers, with a special focus on immigrants.
Congress and the admin knew darn good and well what they were doing....

Especially a political organization charged with multiple felonies in several states.

The Socialists want to give money to an anti American group like La Raza on top of the following bill:

I thought ACORN was already funded by the DNC, now they want taxpayer dollars to do it. We better get busy and protect or grow our members in congress this November.

I dont blame Senator Reid for being upset. Now how the heck is he going to funnel money into ACORN and La Razas accounts?
Just where is ACORN and La Raza going to get the money to support Democrats?
Rotten Republicans!

A while back I read in the Philly paper about a government fund to retrofit older homes for disabled people. There was a story about a young handicapped girl who lived with her mother in an older townhouse with an upstairs bathroom and she couldn’t go upstairs to bathe so was trying to get some of these funds for a retrofit, but the community in charge of spending it kept applying for money to be used to fund an ‘advocate’ for the disabled instead. When do we quit paying for the advocates like acorn and actually pay for the stuff they supposedly advocate for?

They are parasites and create nothing. They would destroy the US and we would billed up resource rich Mexico. And them damn American illegal aliens would be sneaking across the border to ruin our Mexcio.

Looks like ACORN and LA Raza have met the Rats in Congress and have petitioned them for funds under the false pretense of a “developmental fund”.

ACORN is a criminal entity whose specialty is thuggery, violence, and (above all) massive voter fraud.
I hope the dim-witted Republicans have at least one functioning neuron or testicle, enough to kill this.

Who needs the Southwest anyway? The United States needs the whole of our country following Jackson’s Manifest Destiny. We already had more people living in the area with our expansion west for gold and living resources. At the time of the Mexican American War (See Treaty of Guadeloupe Hidalgo), we controlled this land and we must never cede it to Mexico, Central and South America. There is not one success story in Latino America but there surely is in this former English colony.
