Mexico. Whatever these Border Patrol agents do, they better not fight back or they will be sent to prison by the Bush Administration.

Seems simple enough to me, put the fence 100 yds into the U.S. and shoot anyone close enough to do harm.

To all:
Watch the video, or at least the first minute, if you want to see something.
More rock throwing “youts.” The last time this happened, the border patrol answered with tear gas and the President of Mexico complained to Bush about it.
Heavens forbid they should defend themselves while doing their duty.

It would seem that there should be more effort on the Mexico side (in the case of good neighbors) to stop this activity. If I caught my kid behaving badly to a next door neighbor I would (and have) explained firmly, with a warning in the tone of my voice, that that is not acceptable.
I gather that in the case of Mexico, the governmental powers believe that Mexican citizens have a right to "migrate" into the U.S. if they wish and that is probably why the the government of Mexico does nothing. Our government needs to hold their government responsible for this.

Good video. Too bad many border agents will have to be killed before our government allows them to defend themselves with deadly force. But then the Mexicans will simply send their soldiers to do the work of the coyotes, and our government will run away with its tail between its legs.

It is sad that these guys are out there basically in a limited war with agents getting there heads broken open with boulders and they are frightened to death of fighting back or defending themselves.
There all alone as the President of the United States does not support them, federal prosecutors don’t support them and neither of the two Parties support them.

Somehow, I don’t think a letter reminding them that tampering with evidence and lying about a shooting to investigators is such a good idea.

They're all alone as the President of the United States does not support them, federal prosecutors dont support them and neither of the two Parties support them. And all of the above have set them up for failure. They haven't been given the manpower or tools to successfully do their jobs.
It's got to be very draining on them, trying to do a good job when those in charge really don't want you to be successful.

This border nonsense is due to the anti-American pro-illegal crowd who values illegal aliens over American citizens
Not allowing our BP to stop this nonsense is anti-American bigotry run amok. These BP agents are afraid that they will be wrongfully convicted like Ramos and Compean
(Yes...Ramos and Compean were wrongfully convicted....only the most pro-illegal anti-American bigot would think otherwise

They didn't tamper with evidence and they didn't lie to investigators. Other agents wound up being fired because they changed their stories. The drug smuggler changed his stories as well. Sutton still stood by him.
Then you had people at the DHS and Sutton's office running around and telling everyone that BP agents R & C had actually said that they wanted to "shoot some Mexicans", a deplorable attempt to "poison the well" of public opinion. When they were finally called on the carpet by members of Congress they had to admit that the allegations were untrue. Heads rolled.
Of course Sutton has said that he does not want tell Congress about what was actually said between his office and representatives of the Mexican government regarding smuggler and the prosecution of the the agents. Ridiculous.
Maybe Sutton doesn't want to talk about his discussions with the Mexican government to Congress because he considers it a violation of attorney-client-privilege.

Ramos fired once, and I don't remember if he picked-up his brass. Compean fired something like fourteen times and tried to cover it up.
I've stated a dozen times, Ramos got the shaft because he stuck up for his partner and Compean belongs in prison. It will be interesting how the appeal turns out.

President Bush's behavior with regard to our national sovereignty has been simply shameless. Regardless his achievements, his legacy will center on his active participation in relocating 1/4 of Mexico's population to the US and then impressing the US tax payer to subsidize their movement.
The circumstances of our southern boarder is a bellwether defining the difference between the Republican Party and conservative principles. First Bush and now McCain. Shame on the GOP.

It would seem that there should be more effort on the Mexico side The Mexican Gubbermint won't do anything unless it threatens their hold on power or their money.
Right now, getting more Mexicans into the US gets more money into Mexico (remittances) and acts as a safety valve to relieve pressure on the Mexican Government to reform (malcontents gone).
We'll have to invade and clear a swathe of Mexican territory 100 niles wide to reestablish control of our border.

The trick of putting wire out to catch BP around the neck and yes decapitate them was reported in the news last week or the week before- anyway I mentioned it to local BP when I saw the article, and amazingly enough they had not been told by their bosses. It doesn’t seem to be a stretch to me that what is done in one area by bad guys might well happen in another area of the border. I just don’t get it- do we want these guys to be killed by smugglers? Beginning to look that way- it seems like no one has their back.

The only person who actually belongs in prison is the smuggler Osvaldo Aldrete Davila.
Compean simply tossed his spent shell casings on the ground.
He only fired between 8 to nine shots in actuality.
These convictions absolutely should be overturned by the Fifth Circuit. Sutton rewrote (reworded) the statute (924-c) in order to facilitate their indictments and convictions.
