Talking to a woman the other day, I learned her mother is visiting her from Wisconsin here in Ohio. When the woman spoke of the snow and cold, her mother looked at her and began speaking of snow piled high and packed down on both sides of the road, higher than semi trucks. I guess the mother gave her one of those motherly “Oh please” looks.

Then there was the discussion about the amount of snow on people’s roofs and the getting up on the snow in order to get snow off the roof, and so forth.

Sounds like the ultimate snow fort to me.

This winter is even worse than I thought from the looks of your graph.

La Nina is weather, El Nino is climate.

Get with the program.

Here's the good doctor a year ago ( http://abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=2938707):

The conclusions from theoretical studies, direct observations and models are all quite clear and show that these rising concentrations have led to a warming of the planet over the last century. This warming can be seen in the weather station records, ocean temperatures, disappearing mountain glaciers, melting permafrost and retreating Arctic ice, and is beginning to be felt in the statistics of extreme events.

And now in this article: “When I get called by CNN to comment on a big summer storm or a drought or something, I give the same answer I give a guy who asks about a blizzard,” Dr. Schmidt said. “It’s all in the long-term trends. Weather isn’t going to go away because of climate change. There is this desire to explain everything that we see in terms of something you think you understand, whether that’s the next ice age coming or global warming.”

Apparently when it is warmer, we should pay attention to weather extremes, but now that it's cooler, we must ignore the weather.

Let's just keep our fingers in our ears and say :"Nyah nyah nyah settle science I can't hear you."

A hundred years from now they'll look at the global warmists like we look at flat-earthers.

I see they are using GISS which exaggerates changes with its adjustments. Here's a plot of two other measurements:

It’s not one cold winter. It’s ten years of flat or falling temperatures.

It doesn’t look like they are using GISS because it is showing (correctly) 1998 as the highest temp and a drop off for 2007, while the fraudulent Hansen data has 2005 as the highest temp and 2007 as the 2nd highest

So it's just weather when it gets colder, but it's a major calamity if it's occasionally warmer.

Now I get it.

“This means that one cannot look at any single year and know whether what one is seeing is the signal or the noise or both the signal and the noise.”

But you can look at 10 or 15 years and then say that the earth is warming at an “alarming rate”? Even though weather patterns are CENTURIES in length?

“We see hysteria on two sides of the arguments now.”

Ha. Maybe this is the way to nullify this movement; by starting a global cooling fear/awareness group.

Sorry about that, you are right:
GISS was jiggered to match up to IPCC alarmism.

Now the Canadian and Russian scientists agree that we are several years into a global cooling cycle caused by solar activity, possible the beginning of a mini-ice age. Of course those are the two countries most likely to be helped by globan warming, and severely hurt by cooling. So they are not going to easily go along with the junk science promoted by the global warming crowd. NASA confirms the cooling, if not the conclusion. How long before the media picks up on this? (don’t hold your breath)

Yo, New York Times, your Global Warming Evangelists try to scare us to death by telling us Planet Earth will increase by 1 degree celsius in by the end of the century and now we learn that 2007 alone cooled the earth to un-do 100 years of Global Warming. Read more at...

http://www.dailytech.com

Twelve-month long drop in world temperatures wipes out a century of warming

Over the past year, anecdotal evidence for a cooling planet has exploded. China has its coldest winter in 100 years. Baghdad sees its first snow in all recorded history. North America has the most snowcover in 50 years, with places like Wisconsin the highest since record-keeping began. Record levels of Antarctic sea ice, record cold in Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Iran, Greece, South Africa, Greenland, Argentina, Chile -- the list goes on and on. No more than anecdotal evidence, to be sure. But now, that evidence has been supplanted by hard scientific fact. All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data. All show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped precipitously.

A compiled list of all the sources can be seen here. The total amount of cooling ranges from 0.65C up to 0.75C -- a value large enough to wipe out most of the warming recorded over the past 100 years. All in one year's time. For all four sources, it's the single fastest temperature change ever recorded, either up or down.

The con goes like this. The main goal is to force money out of the hands of the masses. So, they tax something that everyone uses in volume, oil. Now they want more money, so they concoct a scheme whereby they shame the masses into more taxes, carbon credits to redeem us from the sin of global warming.

Coming to a local government near you, a new scheme, global cooling caused by petroleum, hydrogen fuel cells, zero point energy, ... whatever we use in volume. They'll get the theory worked out once they know what to tax.

Wow, the global warming alarmist will not let go of their believe in man made global warming no matter what

Ahhh, they don't believe in it - never have. They just want to make everyone else believe it, the better to rake in the money and the power
