Drift away from Clinton frustrates many women
The Los Angeles Times ^ | March 2, 2008 | Robin Abcarian

DALLAS -- Darlene Ewing is a Democratic activist, longtime feminist and very frustrated Hillary Rodham Clinton supporter.

Like many who have dreamed of seeing a woman in the Oval Office, Ewing doesn't understand why women are drifting in ever-greater numbers away from Clinton toward her rival, Barack Obama. This trend, which has imperiled the candidacy of the woman once considered a shoo-in for her party's nomination, infuriates the frank-talking Texan.

"They're running to the rock star, to the momentum, to the excitement," said Ewing, a family law attorney who chairs the Dallas County Democratic Party. "And I am worried that if Hillary doesn't get elected, I am never going to see a woman president in my lifetime. I do think her chances are slipping away, and it [ticks] me off."

This sentiment is being expressed around the country -- in testy dinner-party conversations, around the water cooler, and in the public forum. As Clinton's shot at the nomination boils down to two contests Tuesday -- in the delegate-rich states of Texas and Ohio, where she is running neck and neck with Obama -- many women who support the New York senator are angered and saddened by their sisters' desertion to the other side.

Old-school feminists have lined up against each other....

Aren't most feminists "frustrated"?

I read he entire article. Oh, how I loved seeing the devil turn on the devil. I truly hope that when Obama gets the nomination that all the "diesel dykes" will be so angry they'll stay home on Election Day.

I’m just wondering: If Obama does get the Dem nomination; does anyone think that the Clintons might work behind the scenes to derail him in the General Election so she can take one more shot at the White House in 2012?

Comments anyone?

Women have individual mind sand can vote for whomever they please. These skanks are mad, because women do not do as THEY say they should. People do not have trouble voting for a woman for President, just THIS woman.

How whiny can someone get? Democrat women are “drifting” to Obama because they recognize he has a better shot than Hillary at winning, and because even Dims know she sucks as a candidate and is very beatable. Still I think McCain can win, too bad that doesn’t excite me.

“They say the phenomenon is difficult to describe,...”

It is difficult to describe because there are no words adequate to giving NOTHING enough heft to sound like SOMTHING.

I notice that, among other things, she is an impoverisher of hapless soon-to-be ex-husbands.

LOL. Yeah “diesel dykes” are such a big percentage of the electorate (even for the Dims). I’m sure they’re quaking in their boots at the idea.

I think the truth of the matter is most women have had the experience of being sabotaged and sacrificed by a "female boss" in the workplace and aren't too keen to have one lording over their personal lives, as well.

With all the stories out about "Shrillery" and her demeanor, the lack of respect towards others, not to mention the Clinton's history of having bodies constantly turning up.....I would be running from her too, if I were democrat.

Some over-weight, over-50 women were carrying Hillary signs in the Heights, a liberal bastion in Houston represented by Sheila Jackson Lee, yesterday while we were visiting the Bayou City. No one was honking or encouraging them. Nice!

Electing a woman for the sake of electing a woman. Qualifications don’t matter one bit to that attorney. Principles matter less. I would never use such an unprincipled attorney.

I wonder if she would feel the same way if a Condi Rice or a Margaret Thatcher type woman was running for President other than a on DemonRat ticket?

The "I am woman, hear me roar" era is over.

Younger women have decided they don't want to walk around angry and hating men all the time.

"do think her chances are slipping away, and it [ticks] me off."

This translates to;"If Hillary does not win it means we won't be able to load the Federal Government with Ann Lewis clones and pass all manner of legislation relegating men to second class status. We'll never be able to get even with the male sexist pig dogs."

"They're running to the rock star, to the momentum, to the excitement,"

Its human nature my dear, but it is ESPECIALLY applicable to Democrats and Leftists these days. Among other disorders, liberalism is about personalty cults. Interstingly, for the longest time, liberals have admonished the Right for such a thing, but as we know about the pot and kettle...

Most women have decided that they don’t want LESBIANS to do their thinking for them. The dirty little secret of dykes: THEY HATE STRAIGHT WOMEN. Unless they can flip them. Hell hath no fury than that of a Lesbian scorned, lol.

That's because, Mz. Ewing, your fellow sisters, like you, are idiots.
