KANDAHAR: Taliban militants destroyed a telecom tower in southern Afghanistan, the second such assault in two days, after warning phone companies to shut down their towers or face attacks.
Militants burned the base station of a Roshan mobile phone company tower in Kandahar city late Saturday, said Qarim Agha, a police officer in the area. He said authorities tightened security around other telecom towers in the city.
Last week, a Taliban spokesman said militants would blow up towers across Afghanistan if mobile phone companies did not switch off their signals overnight. The militants fear US and other foreign troops are using mobile phone signals to track insurgents and launch attacks against them.

Not real bright. If they blow up all the towers, they won’t be able to use the system to communicate. Ooops.
They don’t have to worry.....Pelosi won’t let the US listen in! No FISA law!
21st Century bodies with 7th Century minds.....
This is progress. They used to blow up ancient Hindu carvings.
Stay the course, George.
This is a perfect opportunity! Just monitor the towers and put assault troops within striking distance, like moths to the flame.
bump
Maybe set up more dummy towers.
“Kandahar me now?!”
/h :oP
Kandahar me now?!
ROTFLMAO!
Retards.
Unless they are very sophisticated they have shut their own comm down.
ROFLOL !!! You win post of the day !!!
Do these idiots think anything through? Without those towers there
will be no phone service for insurgents and they'll get lost. LOL
I heard yesterday the real reason the Taliban are blowing up the towers is that the cell phone companies refused to pay them protection money.
