Supporters of Senator Barack Obama have suggested Senator Hillary Clinton bow out of the presidential nominating race if she doesn’t win in two big-state primary contests on Tuesday.
Influential Democrats have said they need to put together a unifying campaign for the presidential election in November.
Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont hold primary contests on Tuesday, and Clinton, having lost 11 straight contests, needs to win either Texas or Ohio.
Clinton, will have to dramatically exceed the results predicted by polls, which now show Texas sentiment as virtually even. Ohio voters tend to narrowly favour Clinton.
In the smaller states, Clinton holds a lead in Rhode Island polling, while Obama has the edge in Vermont.
Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, the unsuccessful Democratic presidential candidate in 2004, said that Clinton would need more than narrow victories to remain a viable candidate.
He said on CNN: "Hillary Clinton has to win a big victory in both Ohio and Texas in order to close the gap on pledged delegates”.
Senator Dick Durbin, a fellow senator of Obama’s from Illinois, said that sheer mathematics would make it very difficult for Clinton to win the nomination, even if she broke even with Obama on Tuesday.
In a recent count, Clinton trailed Obama by 109 delegates, with 2,025 needed for nomination.
The four states voting Tuesday will award a total of 444 delegates, leaving just over 600 still to be decided.

Neither of them will have the delegates going into the convention so either one of them quits or there is a floor fight.

Given a choice between Hillary and Obama, I’d have to go with the more devious and underhanded of the two. Obama is a blissful fool, while Hillary is a coniving, untrustworthy, self interested ego maniac.

If I were a super delegate in TX or OH, I would be watchin’ my back. (Especially if I were ‘beholden’ to the Klinton Kamp and switched my allegience.)
Seems to me the MSM is stuck on stupid. Polls show Hilary is about to win Ohio and at least tie in Texas, yet all they can talk about is will she leave the race after losing both.
Because of the tricks that slick Willie and she have pulled in the past, I would not be surprised if somehow she is the nominee.

This Democrat primary battle needs to go all the way to the convention.
There needs to be bitterness. Extreme bitterness that lasts a decade or longer.
Kerry is whistling past the graveyard. If Hillary wins both TX and OH...even by one vote in each state...she immediately becomes the odds-on favorite to be the Democratic nominee. She will be proclaimed as the Comeback Kid who came back from near political death. Obama is toast if he loses both states.
I love it and that is why I am going to do my part to keep this going by voting for HRC next Tuesday
(So sorry Sen. John "The Snake" Kerry. The fact that this upsets him personally, is simply icing on the cake)
This is the very reason which is motivating this 64 year old Conservative to vote for her.

As much as I despise Hitlery, I fear Barack ("Peace Be Upon His Middle No Name") Obama even more.
The way things are going, no one is even going to be able to suggest that he is a "Democrat," (much less accuse him of being a far-left, liberal, socialist or criticize any of his plans, proposals or record) cuz, that will upset the "messiah," and anything B.O. does not like, others fall all over themselves (including McPain) to insure they will not be perceived as racists or bigots.
Moreover, if Hildabeast get the nod, I believe that many blacks will be so pissed, they will stay home.
Next, as Hitlery's negatives are so high, many will stay home and many others will turn out simply to vote AGAINST her--much as many of us did in 04 against Kerry.
Last but not least, it is pure pleasure to F*ck with the Dhimis and create mischief and mayhem, which will be the case if The Witch can pull off a couple of wins and continues to campaign.
I will go to the polls, pull the lever, come back home, pour me a nice shot of VO, and toast the memory of the 58,000 heroes who never made it back.
