The comments at the article are pretty funny (mostly lefty gun-fearing weenies.)

Good for her. If I lived in Crawford I’d be royally sick of the media and moonbats by now.

Terkel the turkey was surprised about two things. First he wasn’t familiar with the concept of private property. At home he could wander all over someone’s property without being challenged. The fact that he was confronted by an armed person protecting their property further surprised him. Again, something he wouldn’t see at home.

Gun Incident Trespasser repelled near President Bush's ranchThere, fixed it.
I suppose this nit would have just wandered all over Aunt Tillie's petunias yabbling into the cell phone.
Good thing he wasn't driving!

Interesting photo. Notice the white car, and someone standing in the open door taking the picture, all reflected in the house window. From the weenie's posture, it looks like he's running while still talking on the phone.
Does he always wander onto a stranger's property with a camera car keeping pace? Maybe he was looking for a photo op and found one?

I think he was peeping in her windows.
Just my opinion though.

Obviously this didn't happen at nighttime or she might have shot first and warned him after, in accordance with Texas law.
After all, if someone's trespassing in the dark you can't tell if they're armed. Benefit of the doubt goes to the property owner.

Yeah, the comments are pretty hilarious, mostly from libs apologizing to the Euroweenies about America’s “gun nuts” and stupid “Texans.”

“I was just so occupied dictating my story that I didn’t really see where I went,” Svensson told me later. “I was just walking and talking.”
So if this oblivious fool wandered into the street and was almost hit by a car would this be a story?
“Suddenly she comes out and she says, ‘Get off my property. You’re trespassing,’” Svensson was too preoccupied to notice the pistol...”
Presumably he noticed the old woman telling him to bug off. but this euro-peon “gentleman” refused or ignored her. Its very annoying when the little people dont know their place and interfere with the important work of the enlightened.

As word spread that the lady had a gun - which she did not use - I can tell you it's a severe understatement to say White House and Secret Service officials were a bit concerned about the fact that they had just dodged an international incident. Ditto for Svensson, who was alarmed when he safely crossed the street and was shown dramatic still photos of the lady holding the gun.
International incident over a REPORTER? Nope. I don't think the USSS was a bit concerned at ALL. I think CNN is being egotistical for sure to even think the Secret Service gives a rats ass about reporters. They DON'T (I know from personal experience with both sides of that fence).

He is high-tailing it in that picture. Euro-wheenie!
To: 300winmag
Not only that but it looks like he’s in her driveway next to the house, the road is in the foreground. Idiot! That would be very suspicious especially after all the Sheehan wackos gathering in that area.

Sadly, it now says:

I guess the pro-gun folk (like me) started posting. heh

Look what this little apologetic limp wristed metrosexual had to say:
"This just goes to show how incredibly dumb some Texans can be. Most people would step to their door and demand the stranger leave. If you live in another country and are reading this comment, please understand that not all Americans are like this idiot. Most of us don't own guns and most of us don't come out of our houses brandishing one."
