Hey Elk GroveDan-at least we got Eric Hogue back for an hour over on the other AM station. It was nice to hear him today, even if it was for a little over 45 minutes.

HEY RUSH, we need to find Melanie a new home. Maybe EIB can help her find a silver microphone. (There’s only ONE golden EIB mic.)

Only one correction - her husband was indeed the Program Director for liberal KGO and conservative KSFO, but about 1.5 - 2 years ago they made him just the Program Director of liberal KGO. They brought in a new person (and more $$$ to spend) to be KSFO Program Director.

There’s room for her on KFYI in Phoenix, Bruce Jacobs whines and rants too much and Barry Young is getting very stale too..

I believe so. Citadel has made some wild changes in at least a few markets.
To: wizr
Well Melanie and Rush are friends, and they’ve known each other going way back to days in Kansas City!

Idiots. Sounds like someone with liberal connections got to this STUPID broadcasting company. Major loss to them. But my guess is it is politics and money.

Sorry, I used to like Eric Hogue until he turned into a Tom-Mclintock-bashing, Arnold-Schwarzenegger-butt-kissing, sycophant.
No thanks.

I don't believe this is a negotiating strategy. Citadel bought out ABC Radio sometime last year, and in the past week they have been slashing many of their local stations' "local" talent.
Here in DC, they axed Chris Core, who has been at WMAL for many, many years.
In NYC they axed John Gambling from WABC.
And now they have axed Melanie Morgan from KSFO.
I don't know what they are doing or why, but it looks to be Citadel (formerly ABC Radio) radio personalities in large markets across the country are getting tossed overboard.
To: keat
Well take her in Modesto if she can make ends meet on $28k.There does seem to be an opening in Savage's old spot in the late afternoon slot.
Syndicate her from KFIC outta add a few bucks to the pot.

Getting closer to the general election, so the left wing pukes are in a panic to purge and silence free thinkers every place they can, especially conservatives.
If there's anything that scares the hell out of the liberals, it is conservative talk radio. Melanie has been outstanding, so of course she was in the crosshairs.
Best wishes, Melanie. Remember, you have many friends at FR and throughout the country. Stay positive, hang in there, and you will prevail. I fully expect that you will turn up with an even better job than the one you just left.

1. Citadel bought ABC Radio.
2. Citadel paid too much.
3. Citadel took a BIG hit in the 4th quarter 2007.
4. Citadel is laying off high-salary staff, including Melanie Morgan in San Francisco and Chris Core in Washington.
5. Rule: Don’t pay too much for radio stations.

They axed 12 of 13 on-air people at their country stations in Atlanta last Friday, including Rubarb Jones, who’d been there over 25 years.

She can come to KFAQ in Tulsa. Our conservative morning radio talk show host, Gwen Freeman, has recently left and there is a HUGE void.
