Paris - During a meeting in Paris, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has told Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende that he will support the Netherlands if it comes under attack because of the anti-Qur'an film Fitna by populist leader Geert Wilders.
Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen has asked Dutch ambassadors in Islamic countries to do their best to protect Dutch citizens and companies. Pakistan has also brought the issue to the attention of the European Union and the Vatican. At Islamabad's request, the matter has been placed at the top of the agenda at next week's summit of the Organisation of Islamic Conference in Senegal.
There have been new demonstrations against the Netherlands and Denmark in Afghanistan. Dutch flags were burned in a number of cities. The website on which Mr Wilders' film can be viewed has been online since this morning. So far, there is only a picture of a Qur'an along with the text: 'Geert Wilders presents Fitna - Coming Soon.'
Ping
Didn’t France have enough of Algerian/North African youths torching cars and store fronts in Paris not long ago?
Never thought I’d live to see the day I’d be envious of french leadership.
Maybe they’ve grown a spine,
and maybe they’ll decide to treat the criminals as criminals
instead of trying to appease them.
Maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.
When Muslims are enraged - and it takes only discussion of facts to achieve that — they do one of two things:
1. Propel themselves into a literally murderous rage.
2. Propel themselves into a verbal and marching rage.
I for one - propose we adopt the SAME response when their behavior outrages OUR sensibilities...
Perhaps it will take burned Mosques, internment camps, redlined immigration practices, etc.....
India’s experience showed retaliation and segregation as the ONLY successful response to militant Islam.
Their self declared Jihad against the West — doesn’t require us to drop to our knees and offer our necks to their swords....
Jihad is a two way street — in that direction lies serious consequences for the Jihadists AND their supporters..
Viva La France!
Time to buy stock in European fire extinguisher and auto glass companies.
Isn’t the Netherlands a NATO country?
An attack upon a NATO country by agents of a foreign power calls for a NATO response!
Or NATO can just bomb the Netherlands and give these agents their own new “Nether Regions” ala the new “state” of “Kosova”.
Time to watch out when the French say they have your back...
George Patton said “I’d rather have a German division in front of me than a French division behind me.”
Indeed. I remember a book was sold at a mosque that said all homosexuals should be thrown of large buildings, and at the same mosque people were told we were the enemy. Yet they were allowed to under the pretext of ‘freedom of religion’.
Now they get the same things back and now they want us to take away the freedom of speech. Well too bad for them. Even if they want to ban the movie over here, Wilders will host it in the US were freedom of speech is still respected and defended.
Well — then maybe we need to push OUR clerics to preach the “Crusader Theology” calling for the defense of Christians by the slaughter of Muslims....
Nowhere is it written that Jihad be a one way event....
In my book — a “religion” that preaches by the sword should expect that swords will be turned against them....
It has been their choice for centuries — and they continue to make the same offensive choice - VIOLENCE against non-Muslims.
Severe consequences are LONG overdue...
NO site, city, icon or target IMPORTANT to Islam should be exempt from attack.. NOTHING.....
Jihad must not and can not be allowed to be an act of “individuals” with their home “Nations” exempt from the consequences of NOT CONTROLLING THEIR LUNATICS.
