I swear I saw this today at the Yahoo homepage- a header that said AlGore was being sued by the owner of the Weather Channel for perpetrating a hoax....about Global Warming.....!!
I tried to open the article, but I just kept getting the IE explorer error, indicating server overload.
This happened about 12 noon today, EST. The next thing I knew, about 20 minutes later, Yahoo pulled the header/article....gone!!
Anyone else see this?

Any truth to this?

There’s been rumblings to that effect for the last few days.
I think the specific theory behind the lawsuit is that al-Gore’s carbon-credit brokerage is committing security fraud in peddleing something of no demonstrable value.

I know what I saw today...and I think it was so weird that Yahoo would post a big header describing the lawsuit and pic of Algore....and then it was *poof* gone.

John Coleman - who started up the beginning of the Weather Channel, but had to exit when the financing got tough in 1982 is who they are referring to. The guy was a meteorologist in Milwaukee when I was a puppy - and was very entertaining. I think he also was on GMA very early on. He insinuates that those selling carbon offsets are a sham and should be liable for fraud. He probably has a point, but to call him the “Founder of the Weather Channel” is reaching back for an albeit true but remote in time fact.

The founder of The Weather Channel advocates suing Al Gore but is not suing Gore.

I am not a lawyer, but doesn’t a plaintiff have to show some sort of damages caused be the defendant in order to prevail in a lawsuit?

The former founder of The Weather Channel has nothing to do with The Weather Channel.
Bad headline.

“Might have meant current head of TWC.”
Nope. It’s John Coleman who founded the channel in 1982 and left the same year.
Still, bad headline.

I think the founder of the Weather Channel...William Gray (?) was interviewed and wondered aloud if Algore should be sued for perpetrating a fraud on the world and enriching himself.
But, I don't think he ever said that he was going to sue him.
To: Victor
Sort of.
It’s the FOUNDER (no longer owner) of TWC that is suing him because he wants to see the EVIDENCE before Al Gore sells credits and commits “financial fraud”.
