DALLAS -- Dozens of federal inspector credentials giving access to airports have gone missing, an NBC 5 investigation revealed.
According to the investigation, 122 Federal Aviation Administration safety inspector badges have been stolen or lost in the past five years. The credentials are one of the few forms of identification that give complete and unfettered access to airport facilities, including the cockpits of planes in flight.

And people want the gov’t running our healthcare?
FYI ping
There is no terrorist threat! - John Kerry
And here we are the US, on the verge of electing somebody that dictators and terrorists want elected.
Precisely the point. Safety inspector badges now - medical records next.
I’d love to say I’m shocked and appalled, but given that this is the FAA, I’m surprised that only 122 are missing.
Anyone who thinks they are safer today than eight years ago is kidding themselves. Anybody with a dozen or so working neurons could figure out how to get onto the tarmac of any major airport. Go to any major airport, wait in the employee parking lot, and jump someone with a badge and you’re in...full access to any plane on the ground. Billions of dollars wasted by TSA on trying to make you feel warm and fuzzy, gazillions of dollars in wasted time waiting in lines for searches that those who would harm us would never go through, and we delude ourselves that we’re safer. It’s all a very bad...very expensive...joke.
Hmmm...kinda like closing the barnyard gate after all the cows took off.
Yep. Back during the first Gulf War, I was flying, on average, about 5 times a week, going all over the world. The joke back then was having to check your bags at the curb of the departure gates. The running joke amongst frequent flyer's then was "check your bomb at the curb".....it ain't gotten any better, no matter what the glorious TSA says, that is for sure. I, for one, am glad I rarely fly commercial anymore.....
Yep - they cannot even run their own business... Same sort of mentality running the TSA...
No real accountability. Power in the hands of the incompetent, and after all is said and done... are we REALLY any safer than before?
Missing or sold?
Archie Bunker had the right idea. Hand everyone a .45 when they boarded.
One county in my area has spent a fortune on their county roads, many that have never been anything but a bladed trail for decades. They are using the money provided by homeland security. Somehow that doesnt make me feel safer. Maybe there are other steps being taken that would qualify, but I doubt it.
Save for later
From our perspective, it doesn't matter.
Lost or stolen?
Lost is naive.
PING for Threat Matrix.
I know this is not ‘politically correct’ to point out, BUT.....over the last few years, DFW has been overrun with Muslim workers. They work everywhere, women in hijabs working at the check in gates, men with those silly looking hats working at the baggage handling area.
We are not safe, when we are blinded by political correctness. There..I said it!
