She's Florida's first girlfriend

For months, Gov. Charlie Crist has insisted that New York socialite Carol Rome is just "a friend," but Tuesday night at a soiree in the Governor's Mansion, he introduced her as "my girlfriend," says the Tallahassee Democrat, which snapped the picture above.

In November, the New York Post reported that Rome, in the midst of divorcing Bluestar Jets CEO Todd Rome, was dating Crist. Then, the governor's staff said Rome, a mother of school-age girls, was just "a friend."

Still, last month Crist took Rome to the White House for a dinner with President Bush. So far, that's two high-profile dates for just a "friend."

Koch was never outed because back then it wasn’t done, the whole gay movement was just starting...they didn’t want to hurt any of their own. Today, it’s a far different story. If Crist is/was gay, there would be someone, or more, willing, even eager, standing in line to out him..that vast majority of gays are liberals/Dems who would love to take him down, and earn a few million $$ for the story rights as an added bonus. If he is indeed gay, and has been able to keep it covered up all this time, then McCain should name him as his CIA director.

I had to google that one. I never watched Seinfeld where it appears it entered the mainstream. I have to say that is my thoughts also. I do not think he could be considered a serious VP candidate for the Republicans with the gay rumors. Then again, the Republicans could counter the Black/Women ticket with the first openly gay candidate if he came out of the closet. Poor Eleanor Clift's head will explode with this one (she recently was in a quandry over deciding between a woman and a black).
