Reid compares GOP filibusters to aggravated assault
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is known for his clumsy rhetoric _ calling President Bush a "loser," saying the Iraq war is "lost," and describing former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan a "hack."
So it should come as no surprise to Senate watchers that Reid on Thursday afternoon seemed to compare Republican filibusters to aggravated assault by stabbing.
But let's provide the right context here. Democrats clearly believe they're getting a good ride out of blaming Republicans for filibusters in the Senate, and Reid joined Democratic leaders on Thursday afternoon at a press conference almost solely focused on Republican obstruction.
Reid and Democrats have pointed to the 72 cloture motions _ which cut off debate and require 60 votes _ as "filibusters." Republicans say these are not true filibusters, since many of the motions pass overwhelmingly.
Nonetheless, Reid says Republican contentions that they've only forced 65 or so cloture motions proves the point. Here's the stabbing quote:
"Is it 72, is it 65? Its like youre charged with aggravated assault and the complaint says you stabbed somebody 72 times and you say no, its 65 times," Reid said.

shut up, harry, you dope
Once again, acting like they spoiled children they are. Calling names . . .but don’t call them names. They’re “offended” if you do.
So we can compare theirs to rape?.......
Boy, these scum like Reid, can dish it out, but when it is put on them, they squeal like the filthy pigs that they are.
Fastest road back to a Republican majority is to tout what they have blocked.
Crazy Harry is an ineffective propagandist. He comes across as a rabid rat.

Reid deserves an aggravated assault. LOL!
STFU
Talk about Liberal Intolerance...
This is the Obama tactic...
Liberals are the side of good and right and are victims of the abuse of Republicans and therefore, It is time for US, It is our time to unite, because We can change this climate in D.C., power to the people, Yes we can believe in the hope for change, if you don’t see the need to change it then you are the divisive, intolerant, bigot, racist, republican.
Harry? There’s a fine gastroenterology clinic in Las Vegas that is offering free examinations for all members of Congress, why not stop by and avail yourself of their services?
This guy ought to be shot for treason. Failing that, I’ll volunteer for a one-on-one match in the ring, with the loser agreeing to keep his political mouth shut forever.
Harry, as much as you’d like for us to understand how things are from your point of view, it’s impossible for a normal human being to get their head that far up their @$$.
He’s nothing more than a bed-wetting dolt.
Hey Harry,
Yes we can
I have come to the conclusion that the only way for rational people to regain conntrol of this country is to invoke the Constitution as written and use what ever force is necessary to do so. Preferably at the voting booth with good minded candidates.
You've just insulted every rabid rat on the planet. Good going!!!
Listening to harry is like being pecked to death by a duck.
Every time he whines the Republicans have thrashed him again.
The man from Searchlight has fizzled. He is but burned out candle.
What filibusters?
Shut up and sit down Jimmy Crater jr. Your mother was right you will never amount to anything!
bump
And I compare Harry Reids’ service to Nevada as ‘criminal negligence’.
Suck on that one, Harry!!
So is that what he thinks of it when Democrats do it?
