JUNEAU -- Gov. Sarah Palin shocked and awed just about everybody around the Capitol on Wednesday when she announced she's expecting her fifth child.

The governor, who recently turned 44, told a handful of reporters as she was leaving work to expect a new member of the first family, then headed to a reception at the Baranof Hotel to feast on king crab.

Palin said she's already about seven months along, with the baby due to arrive in mid-May.

Is no one but me sad that this baby will be raised by day care? As governor she will have very little time for it.

Well Willy Jeff was the first elected President to be impeached.

Some milestones may need an astrisk.

Another example would be that B. Hussein, if elected, would be the first "half Kenyan" to be elected. Or the first half White to be elected. Or the first "choclate President" as the mayor of New Orleans might say.

She can be a “stay at home” mom if she lives in the white house.

If only men were allowed to run for public office this would never happen!!!

Reminds me of an old joke (ladies, move along to the next post, please):

Q: What's the good thing about having a woman for president?

A: We wouldn't have to pay her as much.

{ducking for cover}

He also recently competed in a long-distance cross-state snowmobile race, and finished (I think) fourth despite breaking his arm along the way.

What does Mr. Palin do for a living?

He's a lumberjack, and he's OK.

So will she be the first Governor to give birth while in office.

Wait, wait, wait.

In today's politically correct world, aren't the guys "pregnant" too when their wives are pregnant? Haven't you heard people say "we're expecting"?

That being the new way of the world, hasn't there been a male governor somewhere that "gave birth"?

So I guess there are still some areas of the state where drilling is permitted.

In that area where the drilling occurred, the democrats will soon be investigating for pollution.

And how large was that area for drilling?
