A lawsuit filed Thursday in a New York federal court by Latino immigrants seeks to force immigration authorities to complete hundreds of thousands of stalled naturalization petitions in time for the new citizens to vote in November. (snip) The class action suit was brought by the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund on behalf of legal Hispanic immigrants in the New York City area who are eager to vote... (snip) It is astonishing the government should be so unresponsive to immigrants who have enthusiastically taken all the steps to become Americans, said Janet Murguía, president of the National Council of La Raza, a Latino group that supported the suit.

I searched for this before posting. If it is a duplicate, so sorry!
To all you La Raza vaqueros and putas...STFU, SI PUEDE!
Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), “Latinos are not a group on the fringes of our society that can be manipulated to score political points. If this presidential primary season has shown us anything, it is that Latinos are no longer the sleeping giant in American politics they are fully awake, active and making a difference. This is the type of cynical effort that serves to deepen the divisions in our nation that we should be working to bridge.
In other words, Hispanics will now decide our fate.
shades of the prior Clinton Gore rushed through applications with fraud.

If this lawsuit gets any traction, I'd say our first priority is to file multiple class-action lawsuits to force our government to enforce our immigration laws and deport the illegal invaders immediately!
Is there anyone who has it better than Puerto Ricans in the U.S.? They have all the economic and military protection of the U.S., they can immigrate to the U.S. as easily as jumping on a plane or boat, they demand day long parades in Manhattan to celebrate themselves, and will never have to actually become a state of the U.S.
If they are truly stalled, the public-trough teat-suckers should do the job we pay them to do, and finish having their secretaries rubber-stamp their names on the documents.
If, as is more likely, there are problems with the applications & applicants, then the selfless, hard working government officials should tell the rabble to get stuffed.
Until we have a Constitutional amendment making English the official (and only) language of the US government, we don’t need Puerto Rico becoming a state. Think of Quebec and Canada.
They did the same thing in 1996, rushing LPRs thru the process so they could vote. This country will be taken down through the ballot box using our democratic institutions against us. By 2050, 29% of the population will be Hispanic, even without an amnesty.
Well, now, there’s a surprise
Not again. Where is there the same council for us Jews? We need a supremacist coalition, some leaders and other things to make us feel victimized and treated like clowns. We need a United Jew College Fund for the poor Jews from Eastern Europe.
I say when will there be OUR DAY!?
(don’t get me started on how many of my co-religionists will support that kind of tripe. Soon we will have college courses and an organization calling themselves The Kikes association. Oy vey)
DNC has all the ballots cast already. These folks don’t have to bother.
just in time to vote against McCain.
I was kind of thinking along those same lines myself. My Italian Swiss ancestors, who arrived in New Orleans in 1843, didn’t act or think like these Hispanic or Latinos or whatever they call themselves here today. Fact is, none of my ancestors (save one and he was German) tried to keep their children ethnically chained.
Hyphenated Americans shouldn’t exist. Emphasizing diversity over unity is the first step towards a breakdown in social civility.
There used to be many Yiddish newspapers published in New York; do you know if any still exist? Is there an effort on the part of young people to learn Yiddish before it disappears?
Speaking of language, my father’s mother was born in a mining camp in Colorado and her first language was a brythonic one, Welsh. But there were all kinds of people in those coal mining camps in late 1800’s North America: Chinese, Mexican, Irish, Poles, Blacks, etc. She heard and remembered lots of disparate foreign language phrases, none of them decent!
This is why the promise of immigration should be to the whole world and not primarily to any one country or group.
