A wave of kidnappings in Mexico has halved the number of tourists visiting the country's most famous popular destination and left foreigners working in the country terrified for their families.
-snip-
"They are also starved - we had one report where a person was held for two weeks during which time they were handcuffed with their hands behind them the entire time, chained to the floor and fed only three tortillas and water. It's just unconscionable what's happened to some of these people."
As well as the increasing number of abductions, the FBI was also worried about the fact some of the kidnappings were taking place on American soil, Mr Foxworth added. "Groups will come across the border, abduct people and take them back down to Mexico," he said.

Why isn't this making news here??????

Clearly it is making the news in the US if tourism is down 50%.
A colleague of mine mentioned that he saw even more college students in Cabo San Lucas than normal this winter, many of them commenting that they were steering clear of Tijuana because it was too dangerous and too downmarket.

I mean headlines. Do a search on Google News and very few articles come up on this.

Apparently half of the tourists who go to Tijuana are too stupid to worry about this?

Bush had better talk to his buddy about this.
Wait - Bush doesn’t care one damn about Americans.

My 19 yo daughter loves to go to TJ even though it bothers me so. I’ve been sending her the articles here on FR about how dangerous it is down there. Last night, she finally said, “Mom, you don’t have to send any more articles, I’m not going down there anymore”. Thank God. I would panic every time she would go.

The MSM agenda includes minimizing the level of anti-illegal immigrant anxiety in this country.

The primary purpose of government is to protect against invasion.

It is making the news some, but border crossing incidents and violence along the border are downplayed by the MSM and the Federal government. These reports only whip up support for better border enforcement.

One of the reasons tourism in Jamaica is about 10% of what it could be is hat the locals constantly harass the vacationers who don’t want or need their hair braided every 2 hours...etc. Safety outside the hotel property makes Aruba look like a safe haven for young girls.

Acts of war? Naaaahhh..... It's just a little bit of revenue generation and good, old fashioned, wholesome family values that don't stop at the rio grande, rape by our good amigos south of the border.
As long as federal hispandering for cash is the order of the day, nothing will be done.
NOTHING!

Why would anyone care to go to Tijuana?
Only thing there is bullfighting, narco terror, kidnapping for ransom and the famous donkey shows.

That is a plausible argument when two border patrol agents are rotting in prison.

That is a plausible argument when two border patrol agents are rotting in prison. So the argument is that because two border patrol agents are in prison for crimes of which they were convicted in a court of law, it means that the President does not "care one damn" about any of his countrymen.
And that argument is being characterized as "plausible" instead of ridiculous?
Obsession isn't healthy.

Kind of tells you something about the state department’s background checks when cartel members can go back and forth across the border without any impediment
