Im just in this for the comedy at this point. Comedy, horror, sci-fi? Who knows?
I'm sorta leaning toward the space alien angle, waiting for them to peel off the masks.
Where the heck are those magic sunglasses when we need them?

You're kidding; right?

She would do two other things for a ticket topped by John McCain: (1) She would fire the imaginations of the electorate,Dude, put down the Kool-aid
demonstrating that the GOP too, has people who previously couldnt have been considered for the presidency or the vice presidency, namely, a woman.
McCain can pick a Moose as long it's a conservative Moose
Having Whitman on the ticket would somewhat the history-changing advantage conferred on the Democratic nominee, whoever that turns out to be.
Yeah, history changing like two RINO's on the same GOP ticket
(2) She would bring New Jersey and perhaps other states in the Northeast into play for the GOP, something that hasnt happened for that party in decades.
Nothing McCain can do will bring N.J. and the other liberal moonbats havens into the GOP

If not Snowe, then who?
Do you have a better ideas for a VP who can help McCain win enough of the purple-state electoral votes, and who would be a good conservative President-elect in 2012?
Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal are too young and inexperienced right now -- consider them for later -- for when they could be VP to whoever runs in 2012 (if they don't have the strength to run and win by themselves in 2012 or 2016).

Speaking as someone from the state of NJ, I strongly recommend he does not put her on the ticket.
The state voted to ban partial birth abortion, and she vetoed it.

Slim Whitman maybe but not that Hillary Wannabe Whitman from New Jersey.
Personally, I'd like to see him pick former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele.

Not only NO but ! How about JC Watts, Michael Steele, Fred Thompson, or Duncan Hunter?
I would be willing to save Fred Thompson for SCOTUS to replace Ruth Buzzy Ginsburg.

Well, it’s hard enough, right now, to get the Conservative vote to turn out for McCain. Put Olympia Snowe on the ticket and the Conservatives will stay home.
I’ve always loathed it when I hear people say “I’ll sit out the election”. But, a McCain / Snowe ticket would cause this Conservative to do something radical; like vote for a Third Party (Constitution Party) candidate.
I’d just as soon have Hillary Clinton as Olympia Snowe.

It amazes me freepers work themselves into a frenzy screaming about how Graham/Crist/Pawlenty/Anyone Else Who Disagrees With Them On One Issue would be awful "liberal RINO" running mates.
But we don't seem any outrage over the possiblity of Powell/Rice/Whitman/Collins/Other Politicians Who Regularly Agree with Democrats getting on the ticket.

Christie Whitman and John McCain? Not sure who Id say was MORE liberal. <<
That's an easy call. Whitman. Try to imagine Mac vetoing a bill to end partial birth abortion as Whitman did.

Oh, I remember all too well Whitman’s position on partial birth abortion. Disgusting, imo. I still think McCain can’t be trusted. Not sure he ever could be, but he’s moved to the left more since the 90’s.

Whitman's definitely an uber-RINO. Most of the Republicans in the NJ state legislature are wimpy "moderates" and even they were significantly to the right of her.
McCain is a backstabbing jerk and will side with the Dems on a couple of issues when it gets him media attention, but he still votes with us 70-80%.
I suppose you could say both of them detest the party's base, but Whitman's clearly worse in my book with some of the positions she's taken.

Yep. I can agree with all you said. She was my Governor during the 90s. And there’s very few R legislators in NJ that aren’t moderate or outright RINOS.

I might be able to hold my nose and vote for McCain over the likes of Hillbama, but what many of us are amazed about is some "conservative" freepers are trying to hook him up with a running mate that's even worse like Whitman or Colin Powell. Why any "conservative" would want to move the McCain ticket to the left is beyond me.

I agree there!
Not sure what I’ll do in November but I won’t vote for Hillary or Obama. Fortunately, still have time to decide.
