It's turning into quite the morning for, uh, outing double-standards in the media. First was my item mentioning that Bob Herbert of the NYT had accused Hillary Clinton of "opening a trap door" under Obama. Readers are invited to imagine the PC outrage if a conservative had expressed the desire to do the same to the Illinois senator.
Now comes Mike Allen of the Politico. In his Playbook column of this morning, Allen offers this quote from Jann Wenner's over-the-top endorsement of Obama in Rolling Stone:
We have a deeply divided nation . . . A new president must heal these divides . . . Like Abraham Lincoln, Barack Obama challenges America to rise up, to do what so many of us long to do: to summon 'the better angels of our nature.'
Allen's suggestion to Wenner in reaction to his breathless prose: "Get a room!"

Get a room ping to Today show list.
Meh. Obama’d have to kick out way too many other folks he’s in bed with to make room for Jan Wenner.
I know. I saw that cover and said, “God, that’s embarrassing.”
More popcorn please. Enjoying the double feature.
Mr. Wenner, put down that crackpipe.
I’m guessing your tagline is Juan Carlos’ comment to Chavez: ?verdad?
Pues, si!
It was a great one, but not as great as the reaction Chavez will get if he attacks Colombia!
Looks like that cover says “Roll One”, or “Rollin One”.
Does RS usually place the photo over the Masthead like that?
Is there a subliminal message there?
“Does RS usually place the photo over the Masthead like that?”
Don’t know. I gave up reading RS as a young guy when I realized Playboy had better articles ;-)
Was this right before the civil war?
Another Obamaniac with feet planted firmly in midair...
Actually it is from his 2nd inaugural. I don’t know that the author’s allusion is one we want to recreate. Almost a million Americans lost their lives over that “divide”.
After reading the Obamagasims these Leftist writers have been writing, one is left with the impression they spend too much time re-watching Star Wars movies and not enough time going on dates.
Considering Jann Wenner's proclivities, you'll need to be more specific.
Mr. niteowl77
Only if she has money, honey.
:o)
I’m guessing she does from those movies she’s in. More importantly, she’s got a “rep” for older men.
Well, I hope she’s into “moresomes.”
Nice shade of lipstick, does RS disclose what cosmetics were used for the photo shoot?
Gah! That didn't sound right, LOL! I certainly don't roll that way!!
I mean, I hope she doesn't mind all the other folks that are in bed politically with Obama, too.
There have been rumors that B Hussein Obama has sampled the "love that dare not say its name" in the past.
What's sickening is that there are a lot of Republicans in that bed too. Like Mark McKinnon, whom McCain needs to dump now during this lull before the big dance.
yep the south certainly did rise up for their rights, no more taxes off the north and stop being told off Govt what they have to do.
seems some in Govt still haven’t learned
Lincoln the man who the libs love seem to forget that he never cared for the blacks at all. So why keep putting up there as a great president is beyond me.
Many Americans died who never needed to so why is he not known a a war mongerer.
Wenner and Obama should go get Larry Sinclair so they can have a three-way.
The most interesting thing about the media coverage of the Dems this year is how it has flushed out the media as leftist partisans.
In prior years, the MSM could simply slant their stories towards the pre-ordained Dem candidate and take pot shots at the Republican candidate.
This year, with two high profile Dem candidates, you see “reporters” on talk shows actively taking sides for one or the other in a most partisan way. Sure, they will be after the McCain in the Fall, but right now, they are actively boosting either Hillary or Obama.

“Well the Southern States did.”
Yup. God Bless Dixie!
Sounds like a Star Wars episode, but Obummer is more like Darth Vader than Luke Skywalker. Teddy? Jabba the Hutt, of course!
