Tony Blair To Teach Classes At Yale
Sky News ^ | March 7, 2008

Tony Blair has found himself another new role as a teacher of faith classes at the prestigious US university Yale.

Former PM to become a teacher
Former PM to become a teacher

The former Prime Minister, who converted to Roman Catholicism in December, will pass on his wisdom about "faith and globalisation".

A statement from the university said: "Yale University is pleased to announce the appointment of Prime Minister Tony Blair as the Howland Distinguished Fellow for the next academic year.

"Mr Blair will lead a seminar at Yale and participate in a number of events around the campus."

Academics at Yale School of Management and Divinity are working with Mr Blair to finalise details of the course.

The initiative is linked to the work of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, which is due to be launched later this year.

A source close to the ex-PM said he was "delighted" to be taking on the new challenge.

It is thought Mr Blair will only receive a nominal fee for holding the post and it has yet to be decided how much time he will dedicate to it.

The Connecticut-based university's president, Richard C Levin, said they were "honoured" Mr Blair would be joining them.

"As the world continues to become increasingly inter-dependent, it is essential that we explore how religious values can be channelled toward reconciliation rather than polarisation," he said.

"Mr Blair has demonstrated outstanding leadership in these areas and is especially qualified to bring his perspective to bear."

Since stepping down as prime minister last June, Mr Blair has taken up several new jobs including Middle East envoy and adviser to financial companies Zurich and JP Morgan.

"faith and globalisation" - eh? (reposting the video for others - y'all have already seen it) - does he still believe islam is synonymous with "peace, tolerance and a force for good"?

This is purely an ornamental post. They offer these positions all the time.

Sometimes those that fill them show up and do things around campus, other times they just use them as mental masturbation.

Think “Dr Bill Cosby.”

No no no.. his teaching post at Yale. Not my post at FR.

He won’t have to report to work and teach kids for a paycheck.

“Faith and globalization” sounds very NWOish. Prof. Blair should start his class by teaching the encroaching danger Sharia Law and thought pose to freedom and liberty in the Western world, starting with England. I won’t hold my breath.

Most of the course will most likely be composed of politically correct filler and nonsense, otherwise, Yale and Blair would be targeted by CAIR and other radical Muslim organizations. Tony Blair wants the Presidency of the EU, I don’t think he wants bad press. He must at least appear neutral towards Islam because of his Quartet post.

I know because you have a keen and quick sense of humor - something totally absent from the DNA of libs -

Another test: When libs talk, the don't "talk", the SHOUT. They point their fingers. They talk over people. (Think Stalin, Hitler, Castro, Hitlery, Reedy, peeelosi. Michelle O.)

When conservatives talk, they calmly state their case and hand gestures are slow, easy and open palmed.

You can tell more about a person by HOW they say something, often better than by WHAT they say.

And humor is a trait, is seems, only present in conservatives. It may be that bile cancels humor?

does he still believe islam is synonymous with "peace, tolerance and a force for good"?

He should teach an Arabic class.....and learn that salaam (peace) is not the root word of Islam. The word for "to submit" is salama. To make it definite, it becomes al-salama, but because of an Arabic grammar rule it is pronounced as-salama, from which the word Islam was created.

I'm guessing one of the...er...*root causes* of the "religion of peace" propaganda is a (deliberate?) mistranslation of the word Islam that was then politicized.

Nah, it means both submission & peace, at the same time. Peacefulness through submission to G-d, really.

Look up the root س ل م or שלם & you'll see that it means wholeness, peacefulness, safety. All words - in all Semitic languages - from that root, have one or more of those meanings, even if sometimes it's not immediately apparent.

I don't want to seem like I'm giving obnoxious Arabic lessons here, so if you feel like having me explain it in detail, freepmail me. :)

Islam means submit to Islam and there will be peace. Their kind of peace
Don't submit and there will be war. Their kind of war which is Jihad

Jihad is eternal until the entire world is Muslim meaning until the entire world has submitted to their f******* bullshit and their false prophet and their f****** Sharia law

Like I said. Logic and consistency are way down the list for Muslim "intellectuals". You can learn from the Finns. But part of the reason they are smart is the cold weather cools their brains so they can think more clearly

What Makes Finnish Kids So Smart?

Finland's teens score extraordinarily high on an international test. American educators are trying to figure out why.
By ELLEN GAMERMAN
February 29, 2008; Page W1

Helsinki Finalnd

High-school students here rarely get more than a half-hour of homework a night. They have no school uniforms, no honor societies, no valedictorians, no tardy bells and no classes for the gifted. There is little standardized testing, few parents agonize over college and kids don't start school until age 7.

Yet by one international measure, Finnish teenagers are among the smartest in the world. They earned some of the top scores by 15-year-old students who were tested in 57 countries. American teens finished among the world's C students even as U.S. educators piled on more homework, standards and rules. Finnish youth, like their U.S. counterparts, also waste hours online. They dye their hair, love sarcasm and listen to rap and heavy metal. But by ninth grade they're way ahead in math, science and reading -- on track to keeping Finns among the world's most productive workers.

With Muslims I will observe their words but pay a lot more attention to what they do.
Because they are capable of saying anything at any time ----  Logic is not important

The cultures are poetic not prosaic and logical. This is why they have no science or industry. All their oil installations are built by foreigners and mostly run and maintained by them

Middle Easterners are dishonest people in general. (I’m Middle Eastern, I can say that, lol). They embellish, exaggerate, get hysterical easily. Product of being emotional. My people have a lot in common with Arabs, but one thing in which we differ is that Arabs are very friendly to your face & if they insult you, will do it behind your back. Mizrahim (my people) are very friendly as well, but will insult you to your face. We call it dugri, i.e., speaking straight. It would scandalize Arabs if they didn’t know us as well as they do.

I don’t hate logic, but I’m not suited to coldness & excessive calm. I have hot blood & I’m most comfortable with people of same or similar culture. Middle Eastern hysteria isn’t shocking or bewildering to me & I know how to deal with it easily.

I’m temporarily in America & will go back home by the end of the year. I’m Middle Eastern through & through & I don’t want to put down roots anywhere but home.

Walla you are Ashkenazit or real Russian/Polish?

We are useful for Israel, even despite our difficulties adapting to life with European Jews, because we speak Arabic, know many Arabs, & know our way around our environment. We also know how things must be done in the Middle East - showing mercy comes after defeating the enemy overwhelmingly, not before. Unfortunately, when it comes to that aspect, no one listens to us!

Too bad no one listens to you. I know what you mean by that. Mizrahi have some influence but not enough when we look at your numbers. Of course you understand the Muslim mind better. And of course for all the Paleostinians "driven" out of Israel just as many Jews were driven from Arab countries

You should tell Ahmadinejad that all Jews will leave Israel when all Arabs and Persians leave Europe and stop trying to occupy Europe

Yes I am Ashkenazi and we are in America since 1905 from Odessa and Poland

It’s much more difficult for Israel than 5,10,30 years ago because Muslim power has been increasing all this time. Muslims are stronger, have more weaponry much more petro-dollars.

Hizballah showed exactly how to take on Israel. There was not a repeat war this summer because we have 3 aircraft carrier groups off Iran and Iran would not give the OK. Eventually Hamas and Syria will imitate Hizballah which means firing rockets/missiles into Israel. Then when Israel sends in land forces they will be hit with a wide array of RPGs and anti tank missiles. Some up to date and some older ones. This destroys the advantage of Israeli armor

Last summer (2006) Hizballah was firing anti tank missiles at Israeli positions, not just tanks

When Israel attacks the missile launching positions from the air the destruction gets broadcast by Arab satellite and inflames the Muslim world. Death and destruction is inevitable because the missile and rocket launchers are in populated areas. Hizballah loves this carnage. Muslims get to play the victim on the world stage

The Muslims have constant pressure on Israel. They encircle Israel. This gives some Israelis Stockholm Syndrome

Ah, Ashkenazit. Mashallah ya achi :)

Not just the RMB”M used that term. We call Muhammed meshujo’, meaning nutty/demon-possessed.

Israel doesn’t have a military problem at all. If Mizrahim were in charge, the Muslim problem will be over tomorrow & I’m not bragging. Overwhelming force is what is understood all over the Middle East. Arabs have been conquered many times by various people & readily submitted to their rule. Jews however have simply no experience with conquering land & don’t know how the Hell to do something like that.

What we really have is a weakness problem. Many Israelis are obsessed with getting Europe & America’s approval, even if it kills us all. We must stop this insane desire to be a European country in the midst of the Middle East or we won’t last long.

Then why should we be sending land forces? Bomb them to bits from the air. The only reason Israel would do something so silly is because they fear what the world would say about killing so many people from the air.

To Hell with the world. To send Jews to their deaths just to try to gain some points (which we'll never get anyway) from foreigners is immoral.

Isreal does not exist in a vacuum. Israel is very trade dependent and stupid Europeans are upset when Paleostinians are killed. When Europe cuts off trade then the IDF has no money to defend Israel. Then Hashem has to defend Israel

The commie scum are always trying to make Israel into a pariah state like South Africa. Boycotts of all kinds to destroy Israel

We don’t need any more fancy weapons to defend Israel. We have more than enough. Money is thrown down the drain buying expensive weapons that we don’t need. It doesn’t take space age weapons to defeat Arabs.

If Europe won’t do business with us, there’s always Russia, China, India, & many other places. Most of the world doesn’t give a damn about the Middle East & if you’re selling something they want, they’re buying. I think Israel’s main exports should be weaponry & technology, 2 things they’re great at & that no one can resist buying.

I’m not afraid to be a rogue regime, I’m not afraid to not be a first world country. To me, what matters is being Jewish & the lives of Jews. All the rest comes second.

If an American & EU boycott of Iranian pistachios didn’t kill Iran, a boycott of Israeli flowers won’t kill us either. We can sell to other countries, like Iran does, export illegally, or find a different industry. We can even turn Israel into a financial haven like Dubai or Singapore. Israel’s survival is more important than selling eggplants & flowers to Europeans.

There are many options. All that is needed is for Israel to mentally & emotionally give up on trying to be an honorary member of Europe.

You are asking me to choose between money & Jews. Of course, I choose Jews.

To avoid South Africa’s fate, we can stop trying to portray Israel as a white European country oppressing brown people, a death sentence these days. Israel is 55% Mizrahit & 20% Arab. No reason to be showing the world a white face. No one cares when brown people kill other brown people. Send primitive Mizrahim to the UN to represent Israel in full Middle Eastern garb. Focus on Israel’s Middle Eastern heritage. Make a Middle Eastern spectacle out of all events involving Israel, complete with camels, swords, & tents. Allow Mizrahim to express our typical Middle Eastern xenophobia - the Europeans are suckers for that. Scream about racism against brown people at every opportunity - Europeans are helpless to counter that.

Another thing, South Africa allowed their problem to fester. Israel must throw out Palestinians & violently force neighboring Arab countries to assimilate them. No more of this Palestinian camp crap. People being thrown out of one country to another is nothing new in our part of the world. They will get over it. If the upheaval brings down the country like it did to Lebanon, good. Israel now has an opportunity to step into the chaos & make alliances, support new states, & rebuild the Middle East with Israel as an integral part of it.
