GOP Rep (Steve King): Al Qaeda Will 'Dance' If Obama Wins
CBS 2 CHICAGO ^ | 09 MARCH 2008 | AP

Posted on 03/09/2008 7:25:30 AM PDT by Extremely Extreme Extremist

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) ― An Iowa Republican congressman said that terrorists would be "dancing in the streets" if Democratic candidate Barack Obama were to win the presidency. An Obama spokesman said such comments "have no place in our politics."

U.S. Rep. Steve King based his prediction on Obama's pledge to pull troops out of Iraq, his Kenyan heritage and his middle name, Hussein.

"The radical Islamists, the al Qaeda ... would be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on Sept. 11 because they would declare victory in this war on terror," King said in an interview Friday with the Daily Reporter in Spencer.

King said his comments were not meant to demean Obama but to warn how an Obama presidency would look to the world.

"His middle name does matter," King said. "It matters because they read a meaning into that."

The Illinois senator, born in Hawaii to a white Kansas woman and a Kenyan man, is a Christian and has said he has little connection to the Islamic religion, though he acknowledges he spent part of his childhood in largely Muslim Indonesia.

In criticizing King, Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said, "These comments have no place in our politics." He called on John McCain, the apparent Republican nominee, to "repudiate them like he has previous offensive comments from his supporters."

Last month, McCain denounced an introduction from Cincinnati talk-show host Bill Cunningham, who referred to Obama three times as "Barack Hussein Obama."

It is a non-value added reality.

It pretends that a name given at birth defines the man or his policies, which is a ridiculous assertion.

Focus on the stupidity of his Defense policies, his economic policies, his social policies!

These require thought and understanding.
The middle name crap, is mindless guilt by association, which is a typical liberal tactic.

Stick to the facts and the issues!

But it is a fact that Obama plans to surrender as soon as he takes office. He has said this on numerous occasions. He takes great pride (and so many people love him for it) in the fact that he will immediately surrender as soon as he takes office.

The truth is not offensive.

Did either Obama or Clinton apologize for Gloria Steinam’s remarks?

The Hussein Obama people should actually ask some terrorists what they would do. But they would't dare because they know that Steve King is right.

This anti-Mccainiac believes Senator Mccain and most of the GOP of late is marching down an alternate path to the same end, socialism. To that end, a vote for Mccain is a vote toward socialism. A correction in direction needs to be made at some point, voting for him is affirmation of a desire to become a socialist state. I further contend that support from the republican base will bring about that change quicker than a Hillary or Obama presidency.
The executive branch is going to fall into the hands of our political enemy this year, despite the letter next to his name. Our best (only) hope is to elect conservatives to congress. Forty one senators can block any legislation or judicial appointments.

"Get off of the petty crap and stick to the issues."

A candidate with a muslim background, muslim parent, who exhibits strong concern and empathy for his muslim relatives, and bristles at any concern or questioning about his muslim connection and heritage is not only an issue, it is a significant issue and one we should be concerned about.

It is also a significant consideration that Obama is looked upon by muslims as one of their own.

The nation can't afford to let political correctness cloud its judgement or prevent an honest evaluation of what Obama's Islamic connection signifies, but that is exactly what is happening.

Anyone that thinks Obama idolaters will be swayed by McCain's "civil discourse" about foreign policy and other standard issues hasn't been paying attention.
Obama isn't campaigning as one competent to deal with difficult issues, he is campaigning as a savior.
And his supporters follow his mindless chants of "Yes we can", "Hope" and "Change" without looking for substance like a bunch of star struck Moonies.

Of course not! Democrats are never held accountable for their actions. Only their intentions (which the media always holds as pure and holy) are ever judged. (*gack*)

McCain should use this opportunity to challenge Obama to state what he would do that would make Iraq less hospitable to the terrorists.

>I further contend that support from the republican base will bring about that change quicker than a Hillary or Obama presidency.<

What does that mean?

I’d love to see a House and Senate full of true conservative Republicans, but what does that have to do with increasing the chances of a Dem in the White House?

Ya, well you keep up with the easily deflected middle name nonsense and see how that plays in the press.

Pretending that his name reflects his policies is stupid.

Attack his policies and you force him to defend his policies.

Attack his name and everybody thinks you’re an idiot.

Pretending that his name reflects his policies is stupid.

I didn't support attacking his name and I didn't say that his name reflects his policies, such as they are.

I said it is foolish not to consider his Islamic heritage and sympathies through some misguided sense of political correctness or false notion that it is below our dignity to recognize the effects of his election on the muslim.

"The radical Islamists, the al Qaeda ... would be dancing in the streets in greater numbers than they did on Sept. 11 because they would declare victory in this war on terror," So true! The KGB couldn't have scripted it better....and it'll give new uses for its leftover nukes for years to come...the globalization of nukes! Not a pretty picture! Our grandchildren will have to learn how to get under their desks, just like we did!

McCain blinked - and they're gonna use that on him from here on out.

Senators have to grovel, Presidents do NOT...the sooner McCain looses his grovelling habit and begins to act like a leader, the better!

Statement: “GOP Rep (Steve King): Al Qaeda Will ‘Dance’ If Obama Wins”<p.
Response: More than Al Qaeda will be dancing. Such an event will formalize the abdication of all leadership by the Anglo Saxon. The election of “ Dee Bama” shall symbolize the turning of America over to the Third World.
