From the article:
"The rare occasions when handguns actually do protect safety and this seldom happens are far outweighed by deaths caused by them. " That's why police departments across the nation have been slowly phasing out the use of handguns by their officers.
Oh...wait...that is not happening. I guess the author must be wrong. One-hundred-percent WRONG!
This article reads like it was written by a third-grader with anti-gun parents and teachers.

I love Bruce Willis’ action movies, and I love war movies in general. That doesn’t make me want to go out and shoot people.

Hey, Fred.
Are you willing to post a sign in your frontyard that says “This Home is Totally GUN Free!”
To: Rick.Donaldson
When disagreements get heated and violent, the violence frequently escalates to firearms and someone gets shot. Only if your culture is predisposed to killing someone because they "dissed" you.
Otherwise, people carrying guns tend to avoid the "disagreement" in the first place, knowing the huge responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm.

Just like the punishment for false accusation laid out in the Bible -
those judges or defense attorneys that get a criminal released should be held culpable for any future violent crime he commits.

I wouldn’t trust myself with a car, but I trust myself with a firearm.
Hey... How about I call for all people 20-25 be banned from driving?

Continue to wring your hands, you dumbass-liberal-author and rest peaceably at night knowing there are people like me and other Freepers who would still defend your dumbass life using one of your hated handguns if someone tried to hurt, maim or kill you.If I saw the author's life being threatened, and I knew it was him, I seriously doubt I would do anything about it - I think when it comes to people like this, they should be taught the foolishness of their ways and let luck determine if they live or die.

The XD-40 is pretty nice, too.I have a Sig in .40 S&W that is nice shooter. I bought a factory .357 Sig barrel for it and it is a drop-in change and is also a fun round. Very quick.

That's not very neighborly. :) I have a neighbor whom has been a pain in the ASS for 18 years. She doesn't get along with anyone. She's one of those snooty, prissy women who is better than everyone else, calls most of the neighbors names and will call the police on little kids making too much noise (for her) at the drop of a hat.
She's called my kids names, took exception to my wife backing out of our driveway, threw rocks at my cat (but her cat can come pee on my flowers and it's ok, or walk on my jeep and leave little kitty prints all over it) and she has this damned bird feeder in the front yard that doesn't bring in little finches, it brings in pterodactyls and archaeopteryx (ok, that's a slight exaggeration...giant crows that could kill a cat which sit and scream at the top of their lungs starting at 4 AM every morning).
She's even complained to another neighbor about my weapons (a cop she spoke to) when I was going to a range one morning and she noted the weapons I was taking with me....so she apparently hates guns too.
And yet, as much as I detest her, I simply do not speak to her. If something happened and she needed defending, I'd probably still do it as much as I dislike her and her Nazi-B*t*h attitude she has...

Oh... she’s probably slightly younger than me or just a little older... so around my age (I’ll be 51 very shortly)... And she’s been married three times since I’ve lived in there (about 19 years I guess now). All three of her husbands have been nice, polite and gentlemanly to me and my wife. Even the current one is very nice. He talks to me all the time about the weather or whatever, but she won’t speak to me or even acknowledge my presence so I ignore her.
