NEW YORK (AP) - The bow tie is out at MNSBC. David Gregory is replacing Tucker Carlson as host of a one-hour show each evening. The news network is making a handful of changes to respond to heavy political interest. Gregory's new show is called "Race for the White" and will be on each weekday at 6 p.m. starting next Monday.
Carlson has been at MSNBC for nearly three years.

"Gregory's new show is called "Race for the White" and will be on each weekday at 6 p.m. starting next Monday."
Ah, yes, MSNBC covering the "Race for the White"!!!
Someone help me out here: is there a difference between the two? Smarmy, etc.
But I LIKE Tucker Carlson. Hope he will get another show or regular commentator slot.
You got it pretty much: slimy has replaced smarmy.
So predictable. Tucker will now join smokin Joe as they get rid of their libertarians that they think are conservative..
“Race for the White”
Yep, them Democrats ain’t racist. Not at all. And that latent racism in the US will only be solved by the liberals.
I think if I ran into Gregory into Gregory in a bar or other such place i would punch him in the head just because.
snickering at “heavy political interest.” In their dreams.
david gregory ? man, theres a ratings magnet. (yawn) he’s almost as popular as the perky katie couric. i’m sure all 5 people will love this new show.
You’d have to take a number. That line would be pretty long to punch that weasel’s lights out.
Race for the White?
Got a BMW and an MBA
I like that shirt; I like that tie
I’m a White Guy
-SNL in the 80’s
And how many times in that hour do you think they’ll utter the word “NASCAR”?
If Fox put on a show called “Race for the Black,” Al Sharpton would have a picket line up in 10 minutes, and David Gregory would spend his hour bemoaning the bigoted, non-inclusive policies of Fox News.
That’s okay. Won’t he be getting his lead-in from Keith “Countdown to no ratings” Olberbinladin?
What chew talkin' bought Gregory
“Race for the White”??? What does Michelle have to say about that?
“Race for the White?”
What the H does that mean? Is it a racist show, or just a typo? Or both?
I can think of lots of reasons to punch david gregory in the head.
Okay, okay: obviously it yet another one of AP’s header gaffes but it’s FUNNY. Who knows, though, it might just be the real name and they are on to what Rush is saying: then it would be TOO FUNNY.

They don’t seem to have caught on yet.
Yeah. Gotta think their first guest will be Gov. Spitzer.
In other words MSNBC will not have even the slightest notion of a Conservative voice on its shows.
How long before Tucker Carlson is hired by the Fox News Channel? As far as I know, the FNC is the only all news channel where he hasn’t worked at yet.
Bowties out ... Bush bashin’ bastard in.
Race for the White?
What the H does that mean? Is it a racist show, or just a typo? Or both?
I’d guess “Race for the White House.”
I would have called it Race for the Whitehouse, but that is just me.
(Who is he anyway?)
After all, Race For The “Cure” is already taken.
I dunno, I’m going to miss Tucker’s bits, including this one from his pal Willie Geist:

They do sort of look alike....LOL
I'm thinking that maybe they left the word "House" off of the end? Very strange title.
Race for the White? Are you kidding?
Looks like he’s staying with this morning show.
Wow - talk about separated at birth! That’s incredible!
David Gregory? Isn’t he the guy who looks (and acts, I might add) like a baboon?
Gotta admit the one on the left looks more, shall we say, distinguished.
Ha! I just posted that isn’t he the guy who looks like a baboon? Maybe snow monkey is more appropriate but I think baboon is also a good likeness.
I guess MSNBC was getting too right wing for its viewers.
I’ve always liked Tucker too.
"personal gain"?
Guess it worked -
This man is a pig - dimwitted, uber-partisan, and sometimes appears to be in his cups...
Good grief.
Not much in the personality dept either - he's too consumed with hate. I guess NBC has a death wish
“I think if I ran into Gregory in a bar or other such place i would punch him in the head just because.”
Nah! I’d get him drunk, hook him up with a male prostitute, and take pictures!
I’ll have to click even faster past MSNBC now
gregory is such a slimeball
From the article:
“Keith Olbermann’s popular “Countdown” program will rerun every night at 10.”
He’s lucky if he gets a national audience the size of a small California town.
So, let me get this straight - Keith Olberbinladen is considered “popular” by the AP but President Bush is not?
No matter, I never watched Carlson, I won't watch him.
FNC didn’t want Carlson or he would have jumped years ago. But then who DOES want Carlson?? He is a quirky guy and not exactly a conservative icon of any kind having done nothing for the party that anybody can name.
PMSNBC thinks they can attract non-socialists by putting on a token ‘conservative’ but yet they can’t get their hands on anybody that actual conservatives want to hear from. I’m sure John Kasich is on their short list but, like Joe Scarborough, being an effective and conservative Congressman is no guarantee that you are not a complete dud as a television personality and no guarantee that you are conservative personally.
