Democratic Senator Hillary Clintons efforts to reunite the Democratic Party and get the votes of some independent voters could become tougher than ever with news that former President Bill Clinton appeared on conservative talk show host Rush Limbaughs show on the day of the Texas primary.
If the story catches on, it will likely strike a decidedly sour note with many Democrats and adds to the increasing instances in this campaign that anything will be done to get votes.
Why? Because Limbaugh is considered the quintessential demonizer of Democrats by Democrats and this means the former President was trying to help the conservative talk show hosts efforts to get Republicans to cross over in the Texas primary to vote for Hillary Clinton. There is an irony here since Bill Clinton helped Limbaugh become quite a wealthy man over the years. But here it seems to be the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
The crime is made worse by the fact that the avowed purpose of Limbaugh and those talkers who joined him in this effort to get GOP crossovers was to a) throw a monkey wrench into Obamas string of victories and break his momentum b) help force the Democratic battle for the nomination to go on longer and become more bitter in order to weaken the Democrats and help Republican chances c) get Senator Clinton as candidate because some Republicans perceived her as the weaker candidate.
Even worse: the Clintons have not been easily accessible to some PROGRESSIVE talk show hosts such as Ed Schultz.

Wasn’t it a guest host that day? I don’t think Rush was even there. So Der Schleekmeister has plausible deniability.
Not really, they demonize themselves just fine all by themselves.
BS
Rush was out sick that day with a fever.
I don’t think this happened. I listen to Rush. I think I would remember hearing Bill Clinton.
Huh?? For real? Sure it wasn’t one of Paul Shanklin’s parodies?
Does anyone have an actual transcript of this?
Yes. There was a guest host, who was the morning lede-in to the Rush show on a local Texas station. the guest hose (name escapes me) interviewed Billbo on HIS (the guest host’s show) that morning, and re-played the interview during his guest-host of Rush that afternoon.
So, yes, a BJ interview aired on Rush’s show, but no, BJ wasn’t actually interviewed on Rush’s show.
It was a guest host, I forget his name. He’s a local radio guy in Texas and had interviewed Clinton on the campaign trail in that capacity. No, Clinton did not join Rush as a guest.
Rush was sick last Tuesday and had a guest host. Someone from Dallas if I remember correctly.
Bill Clinton was not on the show.
This Dem civil war sure is entertaining though...
Mark Davis.
Articles like these bring a smile to my face.
Mark Davis interviewed Slick the day of the primaries and then Mark subbed for Rush and replayed the interview. NO big deal. Slick and his wife are political hoes and will take the votes where they can get them.
I was just making the point because I do not believe that there is such a transcript.
I listen to Rush almost everyday. I believe there was a guest host on that day — though I don’t remember clearly. I may have missed part of the broadcast, but I don’t THINK Bill Clinton was on the show — with Rush or any guest host. If he had been, Rush would CERTAINLY have milked it for all it was worth on air everyday since!
Yes, that’s how I recall it happened. The guest host was Mark Davis.
I remembered being surprised (to say) the least at hearing his voice on the show, but then realized it was the re-air of an interview on another station.
I didn’t hear the show that day, so I was surprised that this “suddenly” is making the rounds of the blogosphere.
Golly, that would be even more hilarious if it was just Paul Shanklin!
I posted a couple of others on the same incident because the reaction was so delicious.
That said, apparently the interview was not with Rush, but with the guest host on his own show and the guest host replayed it on the Rush show.
Anyway . . .
The blogosphere is abuzz with “Bubba on Rush” -— uh, that would be the part of the blogosphere that claims Rush is always being inaccurate, but they sure got this one wrong, it seems!
I don’t know about this one. I turned off Rush that day when he was out sick but, he was on Wednesday and didn’t mention Clinton being on the show the prior day. Something as unusual as Bill Clinton being on the show the day before would have had Rush spending a good portion of Wednesday’s show talking about it.
My first thought is that the Rushman does a wicked, dead on imitation of ‘ol Bill!
When you think about it, however-—yeah, it would be more galling to the Rats if Bubba had actually gone on Rush’s show (as opposed to having an interview replayed on Rush’s show)-—the fact remains that Bubba DID go on CONSERVATIVE TALK RADIO the day of the TX primaries and said weird stuff in an attempt to join Rush’s strategy to increase crossover votes for the Witch.
So, yeah. That still oughta tick off the Rats.
The facts are slightly skewed with this bit of news. Bill Clinton actually was interviewed by Mark Davis, a local Dallas conservative talk show host on WBAP, on the day of the Texas primary. It just so happened that Rush was sick that same day and Mark filled in for him. Mark then replayed his interview with Bill Clinton on the Rush Limbaugh show. It was a good interview. Mark Davis, albeit a conservative, was fair and courteous to Bill and was grateful to have the opportunity to chat with him.
