That the Qubbat as-Sachrah wasn’t blown up the minute Israel liberated East Jerusalem is a great shame for Jews.
To: mnehrling
you need to re-word that, the temple was torn down by Titus’ troops in 70 AD

This “leader” needs to be taken out behind the woodshed for a meeting with mister-very-large-hickory-switch and have his caboose tanned until it is redder than a beet.

Ain't that the truth!

Not saying it existed when Saladin was around, but Saladin had acknowledge the existence. He let the Jews and Christians worship on the temple mount, (not on the actual footprint of the Mosque though) as an acknowledgment of its history to them.

Considering that the Western intelligentsia have been dismissing the events of the Bible as “mythology” for hundreds of years, I think I now understand the appeal to them of islamic fundamentalism.

All of that is true.
Hyperbole is also a huge part of the culture.
It’s always the “Mother of All” whatevers. The “most outraged.” Etc.
Part of the difficulty dealing with this culture is a reasonable stance is taken as weakness -— or as a subterfuge -— refardless of strength of action.
For example, you say “we will bomb the terrorist held areas if you shoot grads.”
They shoot grads; you bomb the terrorist areas.
They are REALLY suprised by this response, saying “You tricked us, if you were going to bomb the terrorists, you should have said ‘we will cut your children in little pieces, lay your homes to waste for generations, and bomb all your people in all the countries where the name “allah” is spoken, such that your children’s children will quiver in fear at the sound of our name.’” (which means, in their culture, a proportioante response of killing just the terrorists).
Of course, you can’t resort to hyperbole, as the more clever among them will then turn your quote over to the AP, who will run with “Israel threatens to chop innocent children up”
It’s perplexing, unless one wants to REALLY push them into the sea.

He also said, "We are not those who ate bread dipped in children's blood." That's correct. Creatures like him skip the bread.

Can we just kill them already? I’m bored of their non-reality based idiocy.
