It is ironic that New York Democrat Governor Eliot Spitzer has had his undeserved reputation for high moral standards tarnished by his sexual escapades which, while perhaps sleazy, did not harm any of us. In fact he deserved our moral scorn for his assault on productive individuals and flaunting of the rule of law when he was New York attorney general, done arrogantly in the name of "morality."
In an article entitled "Eliot Spitzer: Ayatollah General," in the April/May 2005 issue of The New Individualist, Roger Donway exposed the details of that envy-based assault as Spitzer prepared to run for governor. The disregard he showed for his family in the recent sex scandal is nothing compared to the disregard he has shown for our freedoms.

Eliot Spitzer: Ayatollah General
by Roger Donway
April/May, 2005 - Eliot Spitzer became the attorney general of New York in 1999. In addition to carrying out the routine functions of that office, he has used a broad anti-fraud statute to conduct a series of aggressive and well-publicized campaigns against businesses, most notably in the financial industry. His purpose in these campaigns has not been the narrow one of punishing law-breakers. Rather, he has sought a sweeping restructuring of the business landscape in order to make it accord with his moral vision, as though he were a religious dictator suddenly transplanted from the Middle East to Manhattan....

Amazing, yet not surprising, that the MSM has not played up the fact that this hypocrite is a democrat...
You know those guys who are historically quick to cast the first stone when things like this happen to others...
I think the author meant “flouting of the rule of law”.
Actually, “Kristen” said no to that.

Generally speaking, moral issues are where objectivists go off the rails. In my experience, you’re unlikely to be a true lover of liberty if you’re a slave to your personal vices.
I would just like to know what these whores did that was worth $1000 an hour. Just for my general education, you understand.
“In my experience, youre unlikely to be a true lover of liberty if youre a slave to your personal vices”
I disagree. We all deal with our demons on different ways. What does that have to do with love of freedom?
Good one
I would just like to know what these whores did that was worth $1000 an hour.
Nothing different...They just found idiots that would pay more for the same thing.
This article was chilling. Spitzer may go down, but look for this type of behavior to continue by H & Co.
Hey Gramps...post this pic early and often. Whats the old saying?...show me your friends and I’ll know who you are....(paraphased)
Now why isn’t the MSM, Nancy Pelosi, et al on camera screaming about the culture of corruption?
Why aren’t the Pubbies calling for his immediate removal?
I am truly suprised the MSM even picked this up and ran a story, or didn’t at least bury it on page 34A of the want ads.
“He does to whores what he did to us”
Wrong. The act is the same, but he paid the whores so he could do the act. We pay him for the privilege.
Will Governor Spitzer submit to a swabbing of his cheek for DNA if he “merely” pleads guilty to a misdemeanor?
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/14/nyregion/14dna.html?ref=todayspaper
New York Plan for DNA Data in Most Crimes, May 14, 2007
“The governors proposal would order DNA taken from those found guilty of any misdemeanor, including minor drug offenses, harassment or unauthorized use of a credit card, according to a draft of his bill. It would not cover offenses considered violations, like disorderly conduct.”
Objectivists may not think it should be illegal, but they do think it's immoral.
By tomorrow, you will need a Cray Super Computer to handle all of the Sprizter cartoons, pictures, headlines and jokes.
It couldn’t happen to a more deserving excuse of a human.
Amen to that!
And with the approval of the good voters of New York .
The really interesting political question is, what's with all those "money transfers" Spitzer was making? This goes far beyond just visiting a hooker.
True! One can work the word plays lots of different ways. The to-the-point way of describing what happened is that he paid hookers for a service in a mutual exchange whereas he raped innocent producers with government power.
"She kisses my kids with that mouth"
might be a starting point.....
Yes. But the deeper point is that a politician can be driven from office for the relatively less serious moral breech of going to a hooker but propelled into office for the far more serious offense of using government power like a gangster in a vendetta against productive citizens.
I know how dangerous the bastards are.
I also know how stupid the American public is. This is wht makes them dangerous for without the public to aid and abet them they would not be able to do their dirt.
As for us being a Nation of laws, Bill and Hillary exposed that myth.
We, again with the help of the American public, are a Nation of two sets of laws. One set for the Democrats and one set for the peasantry.
By the way, this is why I warn Republicans and conservatives about giving governments more power and police authority. I assume that some day the Clintons and Obamas of the world will use them.
You are right about that.
I believe things are being taken care of now...
At least WE are not letting this go...
I wish we had had this much rancor about Mr. Toe Tapper in the bathroom guy tossed out...
Now that was a certifiable chicken-shiite there...
