03/11/2008 John Kerry Statement on Admiral Fallon's Resignation

"The looming question now is whether the cost of Admiral Fallon's candor was his job."

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator John Kerry made the following statement today about the retirement of Admiral William Fallon. Kerry pressed Congress to pose tough questions about whether Fallon was dismissed for voicing dissent against a rush to war with Iran.

“Congress needs to determine immediately whether Admiral Fallon’s resignation is another example of truth tellers being forced to the sidelines in the Bush Administration. His departure must not clear the way for a rush to war with Iran.

Admiral Fallon has been a voice of common sense and truth in an Administration where candor has been in tragically short supply. He was correct in warming that we diverted resources from Afghanistan to fight a war of choice in Iraq, and correct in warning of the risks of a rush to war with Iran.

Over these last seven Bush years, we’ve seen those who toe the company line get rewarded and those who speak inconvenient truths get retired. We know that George Tenet got the Medal of Freedom for “slam dunk” evidence on non-existent WMD’s and General Shinseki got retired for telling the truth about the troop levels needed in Iraq.

The looming question now is whether the cost of Admiral Fallon’s candor was his job.”

Fallon SHOULD have been canned. Statements about reluctance to start a war is the job of political negotiators, not the military.

The negotiators will get the attention of the Iranians if our military is perceived as a “rabid dog on a weak leash” being held by GW.

Shinseki anticipated McCain.

What’s the deal with so many treasonous admirals? I recall back in the first gulf war there was a whole organized group of ex-admirals who claimed we would get our ass kicked by Sadaam’s mighty Republican Guard. They had some little old dried-up Harry reid-looking geezer who was their spokesRAT.

There was also some dick named Pierre something who was PBS’s go-to guy on how America couldn’t beat Iraq. He claimed the Abrams tanks wouldn’t run in the sand. They rewarded him by giving him a “special” starring his sucky jazz band.

Admiral Fallon didn’t study hard enough in school and got stuck in Iraq.

I was going to comment on Jon Francois Carry, but all the good comments have already been taken.

But just in case, has the word treason been brought up about horseface?

Scuse me while I go munch a few raisins.

Kerry served in Vietnam and went to Cambodia at Christmas.

And it looks like he told that story one too many times for Teh-ray-zuh.

Quick. The nation needs a thorough investigation of this potential scahdal!

Let's forget about the tele-evangelist probe and also forget about the steroid usage in sports.

Don't investigate the definite possibility that the global warming fiasco is a fiasco. And don't investigate the ridiculous growing of corn for diluting gasoline thereby raising food prices and killing off whatever seafood is available in the Gulf.

We Americans demand that our Congress be inane and imbecilic. That's why we keep electing these nitwits.

So what?

Say they have their little petty investigation, wasting $$$$ and time.....and even if Bush came out and said “You bet that’s the reason”.

So freakin’ what?

And let's not forget the countless hours of idiocy that were spent looking into why a half-dozen under performing prosecutors were let go by an administration that was well within its rights...while ignoring any precedent on the matter that might have been established by a cigar-weilding, philandering rapist.

Well a bullet in the butt should count for something, dontcha think? :)

You're right. Considering that John F'in Kerry has had his head buried up his ass from such a young age, he should have been awarded a pair of purple aspirin tablets for the possible headache, to go with those purple scratches.
