Americans are Getting the Significance of the Obama Pastor Story While the MSM Spins Away
Blogs for John McCain ^ | March 14, 2008 | brianinmo

Posted on 03/14/2008 7:27:52 AM PDT by blogsforthompson.com

I thought it might be interesting to see how people other than political junkies like me are reacting to the bombshell news about the statements of Barack Obama's longtime pastor, Jeremiah Wright. Many in the media are trying to gloss it over, or suggest it is on a par with radical statements by supporters who have endorsed Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Of course, they know that is a totally false comparison. The big deal in this story is that BARACK OBAMA HAS LISTENED TO THIS KIND OF ANTI-AMERICAN AND RACIAL HATRED FOR 20 YEARS AND WAS NOT BOTHERED ENOUGH BY IT TO LEAVE THE CHURCH! Pardon my shouting, but the Mainstream Media's deliberate attempts to protect Obama are breathtaking.

Back to the purpose of this post - comments from real people! Here is a sampling from ABC News blog Political Punch, hardly frequented by radical Republicans, and I think you see many voters are "getting" the real problem for Obama in this story, even though the MSM is working hard to protect him on it. You can go over there to read many more comments:

I don't know what Obama can do now. How can he denounce and reject the support of his own pastor for 20 years? It's not like it was a little one-time slip.

It's up to the people and the media to hold him accountable for his long, intimate association with this hate-monger and this church which honored Farrakhan with a lifetime achievement award.

Its over for Obama because there is nothing he could now say except "Words".
Too bad the media didn't pick this up sooner.

if hillary attended a similar church she'd have been forced out immediately. but obamaites just keep excusing, excusing, excusing. he may even get the nomination, because of all the excusing and the media coverup of the truth about him. but the repubs will not be so kind as to hide this sort of thing. and they won't let him get away with that just a crazy old uncle b.s. they will rightly point out that he CHOSE this church/pastor, stayed there 20 years, had this guy marry him and baptize his kids, contributed 2000 per month, etc. just another of the many reasons obama is not only wrong for the country but unelectable.

girlinvt, you are so right about leaving a church that spews hatred. but obama didn't. and not only does that reflect his agreement with the pastor's views, despite his denials, but it also says something about what he's teaching his children. imagine how children's views of the world must be affected by spending their childhood hearing that sort of hate speech in what's supposed to be a place of God?

Why didn't the media report on this before so many people voted for Obama? Nobody would go to this church (which should NOT be tax exempt) for 20 years unless they liked the message. He should change his slogan from "yes we can" to oh no you didint!

Obama can say what he wants, the reason he is a member of a false Christian Church is I believe he is a closet muslim and uses the church as a cover to make him more American loking for political gain.

In the start I didn’t buy into the muslim angle but the more I read and hear from this mouthbreater the more I am starting to think it is true. If he wasn’t you’d think he would try harder to distance himself from this rumor.

If America today even remotely resembles the country we have had for the past 225 years, this person will be rejected by the voters either in the primary or in November. Electing an America-hater like this would be such a tremendous step backwards, it seems almost impossible that it would happen.

We shall see, but I just hope that enough people see through his energetic speeches to realize what a fraud he is.

Blog for John McCain is obviously not an official campaign blog. They will have no part of this, I’m sure.

Hillary had better run with this.

Its not just Obama. Its liberalism. Jeremiah Wright and Cindy Sheehan both agree America is the fount of all evil. The Democrats today have taken up the notion America is totally and absolutely wrong... that the original sin was the founding of America itself.

Correct. Blogs for John McCain has no connection with McCain’s campaign. Is is a grassroots place for those who support John McCain and don’t want to see Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton elected President.

MSNBC which has been in the tank for Obama for a long time has been covering this thing all morning. They keep showing clips of Wright saying outlandish things. If they are featuring it and ABC has it, it is going to gain some traction. Obama is going to have to throw this guy under the bus, and that may not work. Questions will prevail such as was he in the congregation when these inflamatory sermons were give and if so. why didn’t he walk out or repudiate them then.

Poster suzeelee: Nobody would go to this church (which should NOT be tax exempt)...

Reality to Suzeelee:
No "black" democrat church will EVER have ANY repercussions for political activism. That would be "racist".

Non-issue for the MSM.

The liberals have protected Robert Byrd for decades. He, most certainly, attended many equivalent -but opposite- types of speeces.

Remember, only liberals can have cake ^and^ eat it.

Obama’s whole “hope” and “change” theme was inspired by that clown, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. It’s taken from Wright’s “The Audacity of Hope” sermon. Yep, that was a Wright sermon before it was the title of Obama’s book.

There is nothing — NOTHING — that Obama can do to disavow his allegiance to Wright. The link is far too strong.

Now can everyone understand why the Ivy League educated, corporate attorney, Michelle Obama has never until now been proud of her country?

One reporter asked why this old news was back. It is Bill O'Reilly trying to be "a factor." Hillary and McCain are distancing themselves.

The only way Barry was going to get enough street cred to get elected to the Illinoize legislature was to prove to the bros that he was down for the struggle. What better way than making regular showy entrances to Reverend Loudmouth’s Trinity United Church of God Damn America? Wright on!

McCain has radical supporters....? Either way, Big Mac is much more of a human being than Hillary or Obama. McCain wasn’t my first choice but watching Hillary all these years, seeing who this media hyped Obama really is and listening to McCain last night on Hannity makes me feel much better that we have the best candidate for POTUS.

Wow, I didn’t know that, if the MSM is starting to talk about this crap, they’re onto something: As in, he won’t make it in the general election. Woohooooo!!!!

Because it’s more than likely now that this party will come apart at the seams now, where the white meets black seam there. The black dems will NOT vote for Hillary if she is the nominee in enough numbers for her win. Obama won’t win, I am starting to feel it in my bones.

I’m really surprised that they sing his praises so much, he’s a chain smoker you know. That’s worse than anything his pastor ever said, LOL
