Lansing, Mich. (AP) -- The state attorney general said his office will look into new claims that Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick threw a party with strippers at the mayor's mansion in 2002.
Attorney General Mike Cox told reporters Thursday he wants to meet with retired Detroit police desk clerk Joyce Rogers. The woman recently came forward and said she read a report filed by stripper Tamara Greene claiming she was assaulted by Kilpatrick's wife during a party at the mansion.
Rumors of a party involving strippers at the mayor's official residence have never been substantiated. Kilpatrick repeatedly has denied the party ever occurred, and Cox and Michigan State Police investigators also said earlier they found no evidence of one.
Rogers made the claim in an affidavit included in a $150 million federal lawsuit filed by the family of Greene's son against Kilpatrick and other city officials.
Greene was found shot to death in 2003 in a car on the city's northwest side and the lawyer representing the family of Greene's son claims that Kilpatrick's office has stifled the investigation into her death.
Cox, a Republican, has called on Kilpatrick to resign, accusing the Democratic black leader of race-baiting during Tuesday's annual State of the City address.

After Mike Cox earlier statement calling the party an “urban legend” there are those that think HE was actually AT the party...considering his own marital improprieties were exposed during that time....frankly I don’t trust any of the participants involved in the investigation.
This is how he tried to blame it on the whites, if you ever have lived in Detroit like I have the first thing you notice is every black man there calls the other one the "n" word like it was his name. The only time a black man gets offended is when it is used by a white, so when he was on stage all emotional and hurt he directly meant that it was the whites who were calling him that.
First off that is BS, because had any white man said that to him his security detail would have beat him to death right there on the spot. He is nothing more than a cheap hood who hasn't got the brains or the skills to manage a McDonald's, much less a city of almost a million people.
One. Why did Atty Gen. Cox not investigate him a few years back? Not to sound like I have seen to many episodes of CSI or the Soprano's, but what if the Feds asked him to step aside? Have they (the Feds) been investigating Kawame for a while?
2nd. A recent motorcycle gang in Detroit was busted at the Fed level, 4 cops from a bunch of different cities as members. I just asking here, are these linked?
I have more theories, and more observations from other smart average Americans, but I will save them for later, inquiring minds want to know....

So Kwame’s wife assaults someone. And John Conyers’s wife gets into bar fights all the time. These political wife chicks are some tough cookies. Can we draft them and get them over to Iraq?
Kilpatrick should do like Spitzer next time and buy himself some high class ‘ho’s.
